We loved this cottage and would gladly return. We chose this one especially for the dog's benefit and he certainly enjoyed his holiday. I enjoyed particularly the outside space, the terraced garden and the airiness of the location. Its situation so close to Broad Street was so convenient making shopping trips simple and pleasurable----while the charming lane of pretty cottages seemed far away from busy life. We were impressed by the scrupulous cleanliness of the cottage!

Arrived ahead of the weekend crowd after midday on Thursday & enjoyed a leisurely lead in to the weekend and we walked from Lyme over Golden Cap on the glorious Friday to Chideock before our weekend guests arrived. Waverley were grand and my only moan is the lack of a shower & the great weather meant we couldn't have a soak outdoors either.

We had everything we could possibly need in the cottage and loads of information of the local area and eating places - all of which proved great. Excellent support on arrival at destination. Lyme Regis is a very peaceful place to relax and take in the gentle pace of life and enjoy this wonderful area of dorset where there is a lot of places of interest and the general fossil coast area.

Quite well equipped and a really good location. However the garden was NOT dog proof, in fact our dog escaped through the hedge within 15 minutes of us arriving, and we could not let him into the garden unsupervised for the whole time we were there which was a stress we didn't expect or need. The garden, although well designed with nice views across the town and a nice space to sit in, was a worry for children and dogs as the fence wasn't very high and had a sheer drop the other side. Although the cottage really was in a good location in the centre of town near the shops, pubs and beach, there is no way you can get a car anywhere near it and it is on a very steep lane. The cottage is quaint but very old fashioned and we felt it could be brought up-to-date. Some of the equipment and furnishings are quite old. The downstairs, particularly the kitchen, took a long time to heat up although in warmer weather this of course wouldn't be such an issue! A big negative for us was the fact there was no wifi which is ridiculous in this day and age particularly as mobile phone signal is so poor in the town. Also, you can not shower in the bathroom as it is a hand held attachment and due to the restricted head height you can't stand in the bath and the water just sprays all over the bathroom. Lyme Regis is a lovely place but we would probably look for something that suits our needs better if we came again. Service prior and on arrival was very good with advice on long stay parking etc.

A lovely, quiet central location. A good base to walk the local area.

We much enjoyed our stay in Lyme. Waverley was ideal in terms of location, though we could have done with ropes and pitons as staying in the town is like living on Everest, camp 3! Still, it kept us and the dogs fit. We enjoyed the range of cafes and shops and particularly our dinner at Tierra Kitchen, which is wonderful if you like vegetarian food. The only shortcoming was the lack of a fixed shower; understandable given the pitch of the bathroom's ceiling. All in all, a very relaxing and worthwhile week.

Lovely well equipped cottage. Once you have unloaded parking is no problem if you park at Holmbush, though the walk to it will keep you fit!

A very pleasant property: simple and straightforward with no clutter, yet everything we needed. Clean and welcoming. A good atmosphere. The local caretaker was very helpful, as was the London owner who contacted us in person. Great location in the old part of Lyme Regis. We didn't mind the steep lane to the cottage (we had to unload our luggage at the bottom of the lane and then walk up) or the fact that the public car park , although nearby, is up a further steep road. However, this would clearly be difficult for some. What we did find tricky (nothing whatsoever to do with the cottage) was the parking system. We bought a 3 day ticket - fine - but the process, via mobile phone, using debit card, on a totally automated system was horrendous! I think Lyme Regis Town Council needs to sort this problem out as it's very unfriendly.

Lovely as usual. The icing on the cake would be to have the fire laid and some matches to light it!

Excellent cottage! We have stayed many times! Just be aware of the slight climb but it's worth it! Lovely and spacious and really well positioned for the sea and the town! Love it!
