Heating struggled to warm the house, probably better in the other seasons.

We could not recommend this cottage more highly. The location is superb.....a minutes walk one way and you are in the High Street with pubs, supermarkets and shops, and 2 minutes walk the other way and you are at the Cobb. So what if you have to park up the road and walk a little way with luggage....the compensation is the total peace and quiet from a traffic free lane! Roomy and very well equipped, we found it a very cosy and comfortable cottage in every room. Don't quite see how a shower could be fitted either..... but so what? Lovely bathroom and plenty of hot water.....not a problem for us at all having no shower. We visited in December over New Year and a great touch was the Christmas tree in the lounge and lights over the dresser in the a few other small decs around. The owners emailed us all the details for parking etc in the week before were due to arrive, and the caretaker (Cheryl I think?) called us the day before as we were due to arrive late and in the dark! She very kindly left lights on for us, and the heating too! A really lovely touch. We regularly rent cottages all over the UK, and can honestly say this has been our best.

Amazing location and great, clean cottage. Fire was awesome and bath is nice and large. The location meant that not having parking was not a problem because everything is so close.

A nice cottage. The fittings and carpets a bit worn out. Great location. Great waking up on Sunday morning listening to the church bells and not hearing any road traffic.

That was an unfair opening question! No I would not stay at Waverley again, but that's not due to any issue with the property which was simply lovely, central, comfortable and well appointed. Having spent a week in Lyme Regis we might look to stay in (say) Swanage or Exmouth next time we visit that area. The instructions were clear (once we found the "right" car park) and the welcome pack much appreciated.

This was a great little cottage and very clean on arrival. The facilities within the cottage were excellent and the kitchen (we love cooking) was well equipped. Over reviews complained of a lack of shower, but the bath is large and has a hand held shower attachment integrated to the taps, so you can easily wash and rinse your hair. The only slight grumble would be the difficulty of loading and unloading your vehicle on arrival/department, as the lane itself can't take a car, however, the owners give clear instructions for this, and its part of the quaintness of the cottage. Lyme Regis is a lovely location and will definitely visit again.

We loved this cottage and would gladly return. We chose this one especially for the dog's benefit and he certainly enjoyed his holiday. I enjoyed particularly the outside space, the terraced garden and the airiness of the location. Its situation so close to Broad Street was so convenient making shopping trips simple and pleasurable----while the charming lane of pretty cottages seemed far away from busy life. We were impressed by the scrupulous cleanliness of the cottage!

Arrived ahead of the weekend crowd after midday on Thursday & enjoyed a leisurely lead in to the weekend and we walked from Lyme over Golden Cap on the glorious Friday to Chideock before our weekend guests arrived. Waverley were grand and my only moan is the lack of a shower & the great weather meant we couldn't have a soak outdoors either.

We had everything we could possibly need in the cottage and loads of information of the local area and eating places - all of which proved great. Excellent support on arrival at destination. Lyme Regis is a very peaceful place to relax and take in the gentle pace of life and enjoy this wonderful area of dorset where there is a lot of places of interest and the general fossil coast area.
