Wonderful relaxing time by the river. Very quiet with little traffic noise. Very comfortable accommodation, and lots of space in the rooms. Husband fished most days, I did some craft work, and just sat by the river watching the boats go by. Easy to go by train to Norwich for shopping, and to Gt Yarmouth for seaside and town. Fishermen would appreciate a small fridge in the shed to keep bait fresh.

Fantastic lodge, couldn't have had a more peaceful and relaxing holiday if we had tried. A perfect getaway. I Did some fishing for the 1st time since being a kid which was great. A great base for a day at the beach (12 miles away) or hiring a day boat (Buccaneer Boats just up the road, best to book in advance). No complaints at all......oh except Wi-Fi was a bit hit and miss in living room, seemed best in twin bedroom. The village would be about a 25-30 min walk away......but we drove ;).

Lovely and clean cottage, communication is good with the landlady, wonderful location on the banks of the river and ideal for using as a base to explore Norfolk.

Some of the facilities are a little basic. But oh what a location the view of the river and the peace were worth every penny.

This was the second time we've stayed at Poppy Cottage as we enjoyed it so much the first time. The location is second to none, with plenty to see from the comfort of the sofa. The wildlife was wonderful, and it was such a peaceful spot. My only negative was the fact that it still has an electric meter. I think that is outdated, and it was a pain to have to keep an eye on it all the time, and always make sure we had pound coins to hand. I would rather have paid an extra £20 upfront than have to keep topping it up all the time. The beds were comfy, the house was warm and comfortable, and the kitchen well equipped.
