Lovely location, beautiful view. The bedroom is small with tight stairs- a challenge after walking Ben Nevis! Don't let this out you off though.

Waterside Lodge is very small, but in a really lovely location. The view from the terrace is beautiful. The area is ideal for walking and exploring. There are some great woodland walks and, of course, the island of Lismore is just a short ferry ride away. There are also many good places to eat nearby. The Lodge wouldn't be good for people looking for a lot of space, and the bedroom is up a very narrow staircase, and has a very low ceiling - but for a couple who want to use the place as a base, rather than somewhere to hang out in, it was ideal for us. The owner is friendly and helpful and gave us privacy. We enjoyed our stay very much.

we were charged £20 when we got there. Dont know what for. The stairway inside was far too narrow. my partner was terrified going down it at night. no lighting on rocky hillway to cottage.not safe to go out at night. Landlady was rude, walked in while partner was just out bath and only partially dressed to turn heating down. we felt really uncomfortable.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. The £20 supplement that you paid on arrival is for the electricity. This supplement applies to short breaks only and is clearly stated within the property description on the website as are the narrow stairs leading to the first floor. The outside light illuminates the outside steps and down the gravel driveway to the road. We are planning for new lighting to be fitted outside shortly. My humble apologies if I made you feel a little uncomfortable. As you may recall, after hearing banging noises I thought that you might have been experiencing problems with the kitchen window, which requires depression of the side button to close, so I called to see if all was OK. It was not that window but one behind the sofa you replied, and stepping in out of the rain, realised the sauna type heat inside. I asked if the thermostat by the door had been turned up and looked over to see that it was very high so I turned this down, and advised you that there was a solar powered electric heater available for extra heat if required. I apologise for any misunderstanding.

This little lodge is a great place to use a base for a activity packed holiday in this area. A little out of the way, but cosy, with a fantastic view out over Loch Linnhe; enjoy breakfast on the decking overlooking the Loch. Relatively local to Oban and Fort William, with lots of enjoyable days out to enjoy in the area (Sea Life Centre, Nevis Range, Oban Distillery, the Isles, various heritage sites). My partner and I even partook in Sea Kayaking for a day out on Linnhe, leaving from the beach just below the lodge. The lodge is a little small, but as I've said, perfect to use as a base for a couple to overnight in.
