Quirky little holiday unit which has much to offer. Lovely well contained open plan studio type accommodation but beware you are not actually staying in the big house you see in the photography but rather what appears to be a granny flat attached at the back, so none of those big windows will be yours. You do have access to the large balcony with stunning views and I enjoyed my early morning cuppa there each day. The accommodation is small and the staircase up to the bed area will be challenging for some. The kitchen has a micro/combination oven and two electric rings for cooking and a decent sized fridge. Whilst compact with a bit of juggling I managed to produce some decent meals. The area is breathtaking and any challenges offers by the accommodation are a small price to pay to stay in such a lovely place. Talking of price, it is good value apart from the £20 surcharge for booking part of a week, we were 4 nights, whilst this is mentioned in the blurb it is not clear. I though you had a £20 credit of electricity not that you had to pay an additional £20. Should just add this to the price and make it clearer for price comparison purposes. Pat the owner is lovely and is on hand should you need anything. Overall we really enjoyed the holiday, came to live the quirkiness of the accommodation and the area is to die for.

A great place to stay, with a fabulous sea view. The owner is very welcoming and helpful. There are two good restaurants within a few minutes' walk, and there's lots to do in the area (e.g. the ferry to the Isle of Lismore is less than 100 yards away). The only reservation I'd mention is that the stairs leading to the bedroom are very steep and very narrow -- for the obese or those with mobility problems they might be too difficult. Overall, however, I'd recommend Waterside Lodge. Certainly I plan to return.

We found the waterside lodge to be perfect for us and our needs. In a lovely quiet setting with terrific views, we couldn't have asked for anything more. Pat, the owner was lovely and I'm sure had we needed anything, she'd have done her best to sort it, we didn't though, we had everything we could want. We'd recommend this place to any couple looking for a quiet, romantic spot.

This flat gets top marks for location. We watched an otter fishing at sunset by the pier. The views of the loch/island/Gairloch were perfect and you get the full unobstructed view by walking out onto the decking where there is a table and chairs for guests. Some reviews mention the stairs being a problem but they are fine as long as you don't have any mobility issues and apply common sense when using them. The outside decking steps were slippery when wet and also require care. Landlady Pat, who lives in the attached house, was very helpful and quickly replaced the electric heater which blew an internal fuse on arrival. We hardly needed it as the under floor heating kept the flat at a nice temperature. There is a double locked door between the flat and the main house and the only slight drawback was the faint smell of cigarette smoke in the rooms next to that door.
