This apartment will be a quiet haven for couples, providing a comfortable retreat with charming views within the Yorkshire Dales.

Good base to explore Yorkshire Dales

Adjacent to this beautiful village’s salmon stream and tumbling waterfall (sketched by Turner), this top floor apartment forms part of a skilful conversion of the property built in the 17th century as a water-powered corn mill on the site of an even earlier Mill. Waters Edge Apartment is a quiet haven providing a comfortable rural retreat with a view down the village stream to Wensleydale. West Burton is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and has a large green and excellent walks in all directions. This is a good central holiday base from which to explore the whole of the Yorkshire Dales. Shop and pub 300 yards.

Fabulous location. We went in January in a cold snap, we did not find the property warm enough without the continued use of fan heaters and mobile heater, it is however a very old characterful building with solid stone walls. The interior furnishings and decor are a tad dated.

We had an amazing 5 days at Waters Edge, the Mill. Simple instructions to get into the property, goods instructions around the property however we did notice a charge for the heating in the autumn/winter months which we thought should have been included in the initial price for the apartment. We did think it was a bit pricey as we didn't need it in the bedroom as this was too hot and had to turn it off.

Unfortunately all the glassware and cutlery had to be washed before we could use it. The cheese grater had someone else's cheese still on it!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I was very disappointed with such a poor score for my review. The following is a review from Trip Advisor which was rated excellent, this was done in the same month and I think gives a clear and reassuring picture. I accept it does not excuse the specific point raised. I wish the holiday maker had contacted me or my changeover lady. "The old Mill is tucked into the corner of a very pretty and well kept village. There is no passing traffic, and the only sounds we heard were birdsong and water tumbling past the old mill race. The recently double-glazed windows cut this out almost completely, though, if you don't want to hear it! The apartment was clean and spacious..."
