Description

Explore the North Yorkshire Moors, the Yorkshire Dales, the fantastic coastline, the city of York and town of Harrogate with ease from this beautiful barn conversion.

Tucked away on the owners’ working livestock farm, these two holiday properties (ref 29352 and 29353) form two of five sympathetic conversions of old stone barns. The farm is home to a herd of cattle, alpacas, pigs, sheep, horses and chickens (fresh eggs available). Tastefully furnished, they successfully combine the old with the new to create an ambient atmosphere for simply relaxing, touring or walking direct from the door. The local village inn serves excellent food and is a 10 minutes’ stroll away, whilst the bustling market town of Thirsk is just 4 miles away and offers a wide range of restaurants, shops, cafes and pubs, together with the James Herriot Museum and Thirsk Racecourse. Sutton Bank is renowned for its exceptional long distance panoramic views from where you may wish to watch gliders take full advantage of the strong thermals. There is easy access to two National Parks (the Yorkshire Dales and the rugged scenery of the North York Moors) and the seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough. Alternatively, the quaint picturesque town of Helmsley is a short drive and the historic city of York makes for a full day out. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

All on the ground floor. Living room with double sofa bed (for alternative sleeping). Kitchen with breakfast bar and dining area. 1 double bedroom (5ft). Bathroom with shower over bath, and toilet.

Freeview TV. DVD. Book library.

Both properties: Biomass central heating, electricity (solar panels), bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and high chair available on request. Electric cooker. Microwave. Shared washing machine and tumble dryer in external utility room. Freezer. Wi-fi. Shared gravelled courtyard with furniture. Gas barbecue available on request. Parking (2 cars). NB: Drop to unfenced stream in grounds. No smoking.

Kitchen Cottage is well equipped, tastefully furnished and beautifully clean. It is light, airy and spacious. The owners have thought of everything, with nice touches like milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits. On arrival we were given a warm welcome by Victoria. It is well situated for the North Yorkshire Moors and within easy reach of many interesting places to visit.

The owners Ed and Victoria made us welcome from the moment we arrived. Beautiful cottage in a beautiful village. They were always on hand to recommend where to go and how to get there. Everything was just perfect. Will defiantly be looking to book for next year.
