The moors, footpaths and cycle tracks are on your doorstep, and Kildale’s small train station is on the glorious Esk Valley line to the ancient seaport of Whitby, passing through Goathland, Heartbeat’s village; you can even enjoy the leisurely journey by steam. Visit the Georgian market town of Stokesley where the partly cobbled streets are lined with inns, tea rooms and a mix of shops. Explore the heritage coast and sandy beaches of Yorkshire with seaside towns such as Saltburn, Whitby and Scarborough within easy reach, and fishing villages including Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hood’s Bay. What a delightful place to spend a family holiday far from the madding crowd. The beautiful farmhouse has loads of space and offers plenty of space for group activity and area where you can secrete yourself away for quiet moments. A great base from which to explore Yorkshire.

Lovely stone built (1780) big Yorkshire farmhouse surrounded by fields and moors to the far horizons. Internals and essentials all up to date and all very tastefully decorated. And not forgetting the Aga and wood fires. BBQ used twice in the week! Walled garden front and rear make it ideal for letting small children loose without worrying about whether they can get out. OS maps and places to go and see all provided and taken advantage of. Joined one evening by c 40 young pheasants lined up on a wall. Circular walk to Cook's monument and Roseberry Topping and back over the moors down to Kildale not to be missed.

Wonderful house! Lovely location. Enjoyed our stay very much. Our only negative comment is that it is a good mile up a very narrow track! I would be nervous about booking in the mid winter if it was icy! You couldn't get there without a 4x4.
