This looked like a fantastic getaway, down an unmade track and surrounded by woodland but ruined by being on the flightpath to Bristol airport. The accommodation, whilst clean also needed a bit of a makeover. Returning at night there was no lighting or handrail by the 3 steps to get to the cottage gate and whilst it said there was plenty of parking it was all rather 'rough and ready', with a large willow tree that could easily scratch a car and damp grass rather than a defined area to step out on to. Has potential but needs TLC. At the top end of the price range for what it is.

Lovely clean cottage. Very rural and quite isolated. Use of a pool which my grandchildren and children thoroughly enjoyed the use of. Best holiday for a long time and would happily return.

This cottage is lovely and is well equipped with lots of little touches, but this doesnt appear to be a working farm apart from a couple of goats, and seems to have been a bit neglected. It all just needs a bit of time spent on it. It also has a paintball site round the back which is noisy at weekends. The courtyard garden is full of old pots with dead plants and flowers, but could be so lovely, and although the swimming pool was spotless, the area where the pool is was neglected with old wooden furniture that had seem better days. There are nice walks, but it's hard to find them. The main issue is the aeroplanes as they take off from 5.30am overhead, although you do get used to them halfway through the week. The unmade road is also very potholed so take a sturdy car with you!

Unfortunately we found the property so disappointing that we only managed to stay a matter of hours. Despite being warned that the approach road was unmade and uneven we were not prepared for the size, depth, and frequency of potholes that made the journey to the property an absolute nightmare, with grave concerns about the car suspension. Arriving at the parking area there were many abandoned and disused vehicles and no clear signage as to which building was the rental cottage or where to park. The inside of the property was not welcoming as it had a very damp, musty feel/smell. The property did not look clean as the slate floors were stained, spiders and cobwebs were dangling from every ceiling and there were dead spiders and flies behind the television. The furnishings were dated and smelly. Upstairs the smaller bedroom was optimistic to fit 2 adults comfortably and from sitting on the beds they were not comfortable. The noise from the nearby airport was regular and very loud. The aeroplanes were immediately overhead and the property was in the direct flight path. There was also limited and intermittent phone signal and no wifi. We could not recommend this property to anyone and we were very disappointed.

We had a great week, we were lucky with the weather and went out every day. We didn't have time to be bored or even use the pool, we found it a comfortable stay except the single beds. My daughter loved the goats and my son inlaw loved the walks and photo oppertunities. Easy to clean floors, but going forward we feel the cottage will need work doing on it, as a tidy up. New mattresses on single beds, and pot holes filled in the track leading to the cottage.

Perfect if you are looking for a remote location to get away from everything, limited mobile signal and no data connection or wifi. Not a place to come if you aren't travelling with pets as there are pet smells within the cottage and courtyard, but we didn't mind that and felt much more at ease with our dogs than we would have been if the place was immaculate. To reach the cottage you do have to travel up a pot holed, long driveway, but that is due to the rural location, it's only an inconvenience for 2 minutes. It is on a main route from the airport and the planes fly above quite low and loud from early hours to late at night, but didn't really bother us saying that. The woods are lovely nearby and a good place to walk your dogs. We did have a tick issue on returning home though, so it may be wise to protect your pet before you go. The cottage is filled with everything you could need, far more than usual self catering accommodation that I've been to before. Lovely kitchen, complete with dishwasher and washing machine and all cleaning products provided, and a lovely clean bathroom. We had biscuits and tea making groceries provided on arrival and even a bunch of flowers set out on the table for us. We would go back, as we enjoyed our stay, but don't expect the Ritz as it's a place that accepts multiple dogs.

Yes you hear the planes but isn't that pretty obvious due to its location!? We had an amazing time chilling and walking with our dogs! Cottage was clean, tidy, warm and well equipped! Couldn't have asked for much more!
