A tidy up outside would make property so much more appealing. Needed an upgrade internally and a bit of a clean. Near airport flight path so noise may not suit some. The drive leading to the property needs attention. Good location for local area with nearby train station offering excellent access to Bristol, Weston Super Mare, etc.

Lovely cottage but with a few improvements can be better. To start the road leading to the cottage is dreadful as there are far too many potholes. The beds are comfortable but the bedding had dog hairs which made the girls uncomfortable. The light above the shower needed cleaning but overall the bathroom was clean and nice. The shower was lovely. Curtains need washing and we found crisps in the sofa. Overall everything that was needed was available.

I (stupidly) booked witout reading the reviews for a get-away over NYE with my husband and 2 small dogs. when i checked the reviews before we went i saw lots of comments about the potholes in the drive, the airoplanes and the 'dog rules' so i immaediately accepted this and lowered my expectations. The airoplanes did fly over frequently, however it wasn't too annoying and was expected after having eventually read the reviews. i do think however this should be stated in the description to aviod surprise! and the potholes really can't be helped - just drive slowly! I appreciate the effort made by leaving cake milk and cookies for our arrival, however the cleanlines was disappointing and to be honest ruined the whole expereince for me, the sofas are old and tired and smelly - also covered in dog hair - surprising as one of the 'dog rules' was not to allow pets on the furniture. Also there were so many cobwebs, having a fear of spiders i made my usband hoover everywhere - even behing the side tables and bed in the bedrooms, which are easy to reach but behind the headboard was full of thick cobwebs that can have been cleaned in some time, also hooveringunder the bed found empty drink bottles from previous guests. but it'll all be clean now as this is what we spent our first night doing! After a good spring clean and time to get into ben, upon pulling the covers over dicsovered it was full of pet hair, agin surprising seeing as dogs not allowed upstairs but also smell of do, i tried to lay towels to sleep on which were old worn, torn and stained and turn the pillow case inside out only to discover the inside of the pillow was also covered. After a sleepless night and determined to enjoy our stay we went out shopping on the second day and bought sleeping bags to use. After staying a second night and being almost a sleepless night the planes were really grating on us and we were really irritated with our expereince so decided not to stay the last night and just went home. i do apprciate the effort made for our arrival but the cleanliness was a masive letdown for us, i am a dog owner and we enjoy taking them on holiday with us, but we do not allow them in our bed at home so do not expect to be sleeping with other peoples dog hair / smells. - such a shame as this is a pretty place and could have been so much better with a few simple attention to detail.

Comfortable cottage and ideal for the dogs but the drive was like 'off roading. ' The holes were over about a half a mile stretch of the lane leading to the yard where the cottage was and holes up to 6 inches deep full of leaves and water. Being on the flight path for Bristol air port was liveable with but they did start about 7 am and some were very noisy . The drive was the main problems and did take the shine off the holiday . No contact from the owners who appeared to live on site was also somewhat rude.

Lovely property. Nice touch with biccies and flowers and coffee. Cleaning stuff was useful... Turn off at traffic lights for timber mill, then turn right into timber mill to find. Then go past timber mill..... As directions a little misleading. Make calls to owner on the land line.

The cottage down narrow lane full of pot holes not very good for your car hard to avoid them ,if you have phobia of spiders this is not the place for you .The place is a bit run down and unloved, rusty cooking pot and pans not good.Weeds outside cottage and windows could do with good clean.Noise from airport not a place relax

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. Unfortunately I don't own the drive so I can't do anything about the potholes. They have been filled in again this week with chippings by the person who owns the drive. It has been in all the papers that spiders are a big problem at the moment. We have electronic repellers and I mercilessly vacuum up every spider I see. I pay for someone to go round every changeover and check for cobwebs/spiders. We live in the middle of thousands of acres of woods so naturally, there will be spiders that come in. The "weeds" are self-seeded local plants which I left deliberately as they are so colourful and pretty. However I do welcome feedback and I will now take these out.

Great assault course leading to cottage (the road) if you are a light sleeper planes will wake you up in the morning and whoever cleans the cottage between guests should be sacked. However nice spot as a base for touring around the area.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. Unfortunately the planes are out of my control. I spend literally hours cleaning the barn and feel I am very thorough. However I am sorry if anything was missed and have taken your comments on board.
