English Country Cottages

From a touch of luxury to characterful heritage, experience one of our truly inspiring holiday properties.

A fairytale cottage less than a mile from the village centre, and an ideal base for visiting Rye, Camber Sands or simply relaxing.

A true rural hideaway, Waggoners Cottage is a beautiful, beamed, fairytale, detached holiday cottage tucked away in a quiet corner of a 600-acre working arable farm. Originally built in the 17th-century, and once a farm worker’s cottage, it has been restored to a high standard. The River Rother, a popular fishing and bird-watching spot, is a walk across the fields. An unpaved road leads first to the farmyard and then into the village with its pubs and locally renowned supermarket. The Cinque Ports of Rye (4 miles), and Tenterden, a traditional market town (10 miles), the coast at Camber Sands, Sissinghurst, Bateman’s, Great Dixter Gardens and Bodiam Castle are all accessible. Shop ¾ mile.

Living room with wood-burning stove in inglenook fireplace, tiled floor and step up to dining area. Galley-style kitchen with butler sink, tiled floor and utility area. Bathroom with shower attachment, over-bath shower and toilet. First floor: Large double bedroom with farmland views.

Excellent holiday cottage with lots of character and some rather odd architectural features. Great location if you like being in the middle of a field and not overlooked. Our terrier dog absolutely loved it. Internet connection is provided (by WiFi) but mobile phone signal (Vodafone) was non existent. TV is FreeSat and works well. Heating is electric wall heaters plus a wood burning stove. Excellent local superstore for provisions when needed.

The perfect cottage, if you are looking for peace and quiet and a place to get away from it all. Set in the middle of beautiful countryside, with lovely views and ideal for doggy companions, there is even a kennel provided if required. The cottage itself is quaint and cosy with a comfortable sitting area if the weather is not so good. The kitchen is well supplied with appliances, cutlery, crockery and cleaning materials. There is even a wellie boot rack and holiday dog tags for four legged friends. The bedroom is a good size with comfortable bed, ample copboards for clothing and fine views. The bathroom has shower and bath and ample towels and cleaning materials. We enjoyed sitting on the patio, having a glass of wine, but did not get around to using the barbecue provided.

What a pleasant place to stay. It was like a dream get away. You are truly surrounded by land and feels like your all alone. The dogs loved it and I would definitely go again. The location is slightly out of the way but you do have a local shop and pub near by. The town of rye is about 10mins drive and is lovely. The cottage is small and cosy and very clean. Only downside is the telly is very small but that's my only fault I could find. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Visited the cottage for a long weekend with our two dogs. Beautiful cottage and wonderful location. Will definitely be recommending to friends and booking again.

It was a beautiful little cottage with lots of little touches that made it feel like home. The dogs and us loved all the muddy walks around the area, and we enjoyed visiting local towns.I hate to moan as we did love the cottage but it does need a new sofa, leather chair, and mattress as all uncomfortable. We would defiantly recommend Waggoners cottage as we had a lovely holiday.
