Victoria Lodge close to the heart of Lynton, with walks to Watersmeet and Valley of the rocks from the door, take the clifftop railway to Lynmouth.

Victoria Lodge is a very Victorian house indeed! Located close to the heart of the clifftop town of Lynton, this holiday home retains the ambience and appearance of how it might have been in the Victorian era. From the sumptuously furnished and decorated bedrooms to the picture collection, this adjoining house offers something very different, and is an ideal destination to spend a holiday or to celebrate a special occasion. Despite its very Victorian appearance, the house is very much geared to modern day requirements, with all the bedrooms having en-suite facilities and televisions. There is a good-sized shared terraced garden at the rear to enjoy the surroundings and guests can enjoy the popular walks to Watersmeet and Valley of the Rocks which can start directly from the door. It is also a short walk to the heart of Lynton, which has a good range of shops, restaurants and amenities. Lynton is connected to its close seaside neighbour Lynmouth by the famous clifftop railway. Lynmouth is delightful and again has a good range of shops and places to eat. There are numerous attractions within easy reach of the house including Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park and Watermouth Castle. At Croyde and Woolacombe some of the best and cleanest surf beaches in the country can be found, as well as many smaller coves and bays. Exmoor has lots to offer including Tarr Steps, the village of Withypool and a walk up Dunkery Beacon, the highest point on Exmoor. A day out into West Somerset is recommended with places such as Porlock Weir, Dunster with its castle (NT) and the seaside town of Minehead, home to the West Somerset Stream Railway. There are NT properties at Arlington and Knightshayes and the RHS gardens at Rosemoor and Great Torrington. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Fantastic location in the middle of Lynton - beautifully presented accommodation On most occasions you could get on the street at night (after 4.00pm) and be fine until 10.00am One bonus for us was the Farmers Market held the 1st Sat of the month and then Tues/Wed 2 small markets on the path to the cliff railway. The men really enjoyed playing billiards one night too. The only niggle was the rug under the billiards table as the ends turned up despite the tape trying to hold them down

It was a very homely house, spacious rooms, including very well equipped kitchen, and lovely Lounges. Very pleasant rear tiered patio, sunny garden. The Lodge is in an ideal location, small convenience stores , cafes and restaurants within walking distance and with use of the Cliff Railway Lynmouth is easily reached.

A very good location. Wonderful walks along the cliffs and very close to Watersmeet, Leigh Abbey and the Valley of the Rocks. The house was very comfortable for the twelve of us and very well presented. Each bedroom had its own washing facilities and the house was very warm and cosy for the colder days in March.
