Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

After a day of exploring the Cornish coastal resorts, relax with a well earned BBQ on the terrace, whilst amiring the country views.

This converted old working barn has been transformed into stylish and contemporary accommodation. The views across the valley can be seen from the house and the large terrace where you can enjoy al fresco breakfasts or evening BBQs. The village of Polgooth, with its local shop and excellent country pub that serves local ales and home cooked food, is close to Cornwall’s tranquil south coast but within easy reach of the more dramatic north coast.
Close to the remarkable Lost Gardens of Heligan, Caerhays Castle and the Eden Project, this comfortable home is the perfect place to stay for touring Cornwall. There are golden beaches, country walks, cycle trails and quaint Cornish fishing villages that cling to the dramatic coastline, just minutes away. The cycle trail at Pentewan enables you to cycle to the Lost Gardens of Heligan and even link up for a longer ride to the Eden Project.
The seafaring town of Fowey can be reached by ferry from nearby Mevagissey and is a must for all that visit. Charlestown, home to sailing ships, has some excellent shops, pubs and restaurants, and is a World Heritage Site. You can take a walk from the barn to country pubs and restaurants. There are spas and farm shops locally, along with many open gardens that are especially attractive in the spring, from Caerhays Castle to Pine Lodge Gardens. Horse riding, sailing, cycling and sea fishing are all available nearby. Beach 2 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Vian's Barn was located in a quiet and peaceful rural position but with an excellent pub at the bottom of the road. It was within easy reach of supermarkets and many top tourist attractions such as The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Helagon. The property was extremely well designed, immaculately clean and with a lot of thought as to what would be needed to make a perfect stay. The owners live next door and are on hand should they be needed but are keen not to impact on your privacy. We would have happily stayed for another week and hope to return some time in the future.

Arrived to a warm welcome by the owner of the property, first impressions of the barn were of a very high standard throughout, attention to detail was given to make this property a first class holiday rental. The barn was very well presented and had everything that you needed for your stay and make to feel a real home from home accommodation. We all enjoyed the weeks stay here, weather not too bad, and the two pub meals that we went for we would highly recommend, one in Polgooth Inn and the other The Hewas Inn in Sticker. We enjoyed what Cornwall had to offer and enjoyed the various day's out that we had planned. Hope to return back to the barn soon.

Tremendous place to stay, the barn is beautiful and has everything you will need to enjoy your stay. The view from the living area is magnicient (even on a rainy day) and the owners are two of the friendliest people you will meet. The location is perfect to use as a base to explore Cornwall and you will have to look very hard to find a more friendly local oub than the Polgooth Arms which is only a few minutes drive down the road. Charlestown is also a 15 min drive away and is a must see especially for Poldark fans. If you want a perfect place to stay in Cornwall this is the place.

It was a peaceful retreat, Owners very welcoming but not intrusive. Very comfortable, beautiful views of countryside with horses in the field next door, and an ideal base if your going to Eden Project and lost gardens of Heligan, Pub down the road Polgooth Inn was very nice, 10 min walk, but up hill on way home. Supermarkets 10 mins away but has local shop a few minutes away by pub. Free wifi a bonus to find best beaches.
