The lodge was a good size but everything was looking very tired. Many doors couldn't be closed (even to the bathrooms!) due to movement in the house; the floors were creaking every time someone walked around which meant you couldn't walk around upstairs whilst others were still sleeping downstairs as it made a lot of noise. The hot tub was kept far too hot and there were no instructions for how to change the temperature and getting help from the reception was not easy due to the working hours being when we were out seeing things. This was a real shame as our children had really looked forward to this but couldn't use it much as they would have been scalded. The battery in the remote for the tv had also run out. All in all - not very impressed and given the price we would have expected better.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner. Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at my lodge and I reply to your comments as follows: The internal doors were all replaced this year and after receiving your comments I asked my housekeeper to check them, she replied that all the doors opened and closed satisfactorily. I will investigate the excessive creaking of the floors upstairs when I visit the lodge myself in November and hopefully will find a solution to the problem. The hot tub is kept at the manufacturers recommended temperature and is checked everyday. I am sorry that you found it too hot to use and it is a pity that this situation was not brought to the attention of the housekeeper who would have arranged for the temperature to be turned down. As you are aware I send instructions for use of the hot tub to my guests before they arrive and in future I will add a note to contact the housekeeper if the temperature needs to be adjusted. I hope that if you visit Cornwall again you have a better experience, it is a lovely county and a wonderful holiday destination.

I booked this cottage quite late, I was not disappointed! I loved the layout and felt at home straight away. The owner and the people that looked after the lodge could not have been more welcoming and helpful. There was nothing I could complain about. Loved the balcony, loved the hot tub and the beds were really comfortable. Everything and more in this peacefully located lodge, all needs catered for. Used the facilities on site...indoor and outdoor pool, outdoor chess, football pitch and playground - spot on! Short drive into Callington for supermarket and short drive to Looe for beach. Lovely Cornish Cream Teams at Louis and pub serving food less than mile away. Other more commercial beaches less than an hour if that is what you what.
