Description

Beautifully presented and set on a working farm with idyllic countryside views to enjoy, this property is brilliant for a romantic getaway.

Situated in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside

These two holiday properties (refs 28775, 28776) offer contemporary accommodation throughout. Situated on the owner’s working farm, The Tractor Shed and The Stables are two barn conversions surrounded by open fields, which both boast far-reaching views across the Cotswold countryside. These holiday properties are located close to the charming hillside village of Bourton-on-the-Hill and are situated less than two miles from the popular market town of Moreton-in-Marsh. The village is fortunate to have Batsford Estate and Arboretum close by and here you can enjoy a walk around the beautiful grounds any time of the year. From Easter to November there is a very good tea room and the Cotswold Falconry Centre is open. In the village is Bourton House with its 16th century Tythe Barn, which opens its gardens to the public weekly throughout the summer months. The heart of England Way passes through the village and along with other footpaths, provides a pleasurable way to see the countryside around this pleasant area. The village has one pub which serves wonderful food. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Ground floor: Living room with tiled floor/dining room/kitchen. First floor: 1 double (5ft) bedroom with en-suite shower over bath and toilet.

Both properties: Electric heaters, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Shared laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Wi-fi. Courtyard with sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (2 cars). Welcome pack. No smoking.

Lovely long weekend in a beautiful part of the country. So much to do in the area, wish we had more time.

We booked the Tractor Shed to have somewhere quiet and peaceful to come back to after visiting places like Cardiff, Leamington Spa, Bath and Boughton-on-the-water each day, and it didn't disappoint! A lovely get-away, the Tractor Shed has been beautifully and lovingly converted. We had a wonderful stay.

The only problem was finding the cottage, directions said sign with name at entrance road - no sign drove up and down road for hour trying to locate and sat nav takes you elsewhere.

Very well appointed accommodation and beautifully furnished. Although it appeared remote there is very easy 20 minute walk across the fields to Moreton in Marsh which alovely town with a good market on Tuesday. All the pretty villages of the Cotswolds are close by with plenty to see and do. Highly recommended,an ideal place to relax!

The cottage and it's location are excellent. It was nice and peaceful. Superficially it looked clean but there were lots of cobwebs, food splashed up the tiles above the hob and the dining table had lots of crumbs in the grain plus some ground in food debris (not sure what it was). I'm not a clean freak but it was a bit off putting. I would recommend the cottage though as it's lovely.

We had a lovely 2 week holiday in a wonderful cottage which was convenient for visiting the many places of interest, and was spotless and beautifully presented with friendly owners Gavin and Tina.

This location was a fantastic find. Far enough off the beaten track to be peaceful and private but only 20 minutes walk into the centre of Moreton in the Marsh with its quintessentially Cotswold shops, restaurants and hostelries via a footpath across fields with far reaching countryside views in all directions. The property's large bright windows put you at one with nature, with rabbits, foxes and birdlife in abundance as you sit and watch the sun rising and setting. The cottage itself had everything we needed (including a washing machine) and was generously equipped for self catering - Spacious yet cosy with a very comfortable bed and nicely tiled en-suite. Very pleasant hosts provided advice and a welcome pack of local goodies. We found it a respite as a relaxing getaway from normality but for those who cannot survive a minute without being on-line, the place has no Wi-Fi. However it does have a good mobile signal so all is not lost and numerous places in the town have connection for free. We will certainly look to return.

A stunning cottage in a quiet location that was still central for many places. Had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday in the Cotswolds.

Had a great short break here. The location is excellent for exploring the Cotswolds but the farm was very quiet and peaceful. The facilities were very good, although I had some problems with the shower (the water temperature was very erratic and at times became potentially dangerously hot). The kitchen had full facilities which some smaller properties sometimes lack (freezer, oven).

Very nice cottage ideally suited for walks on the Monarch's Way and Heart of England Way. Loads to do in the immediate area. A few more little touches would have been nice, like some DVDs.

Just 15mins walk from moreton in marsh with its wonderful shops and restaurants. The cottage is ideal for the two of us and our dog, planning a third visit next year.

The Farmer's wife was very helpful regarding arrivel arrangements, and there was a nice welcome pack of food and wine awaiting us. The cottage was immaculately clean, which is of paramount importance. We found it warm and cosy, with plenty of hot water. The views across the open fields were attractive. We enjoyed trying to get a photo of the pheasants who were always tantalisingly ahead of us on the farm road. The cottage is well placed to walk into either Moreton in Marsh or Bourton on the Hill for meals, and very central for exploring the northern Cotswold towns. A brief guide to operating the heating/TV/etc in the cottage would be a useful addition.
