Had a wonderful break with our son, his wife and grandson. Very clean and comfortable cottage. Enjoyed the ponies visiting us at the door on two occasions, our 16 month old grandson had never got so close to such huge animals before! Two minor points, a stair gate for the top of the stairs would have been extremely handy and an extractor fan in the bathroom. That apart it was perfect for us. We would have no hesitation in returning to Upper Bunkers Hill Cottage.

Very comfortable cottage, well equipped and splendidly located for exploring and walking. We were very lucky with wonderful weather. It was delightful to have ponies right outside the kitchen gate in the morning, and on one morning a small deer. We certainly hope to return.

very disappointed. The dirt track( you cant call it a drive) to the cottage not car friendly it apparently had been repaired so I hate to think what it was like before. We understood there was also parking in the approach road not for us as sadly as there was always cars parked there. The cottage had an overall look of neglect. some of the kitchen equipment had to be washed before use, some you would,nt want to use for cooking anyway. cooker had grease around the controls, some window ledges in the cottage had mould, sofas had seen better days very uncomfortable one with black greasy arms. kitchen which was dark anyway had three lights not working. toilet seat loose. smoke alarm on top landing to our dismay was just hanging loose with no battery. a serious issue I feel. Garden neglected, boundaries down so next door dogs come into the garden not good if you have children. Plus side bedding was lovely and clean and smelt fresh.Traffic around Lyndhurst a nightmare

What a lovely cottage - and such a great location, peaceful, at the forest edge but within walking distance of the pub and shops. The cottage was very comfortable; everything we needed was there. Having one room with twin beds was ideal as not every party of six travels as couples. Highly recommended, the only downside was having to leave our dog at home.

Lovely cottage. Well equipped and very comfortable. A short walk from Lyndhurst and an even shorter walk to the pub. Good rope swing too. Would happily stay there again.

Loved this property, comfortable and a perfect location for exploring the New Forest. Lovely to be able to walk into Lyndhurst for a sociable coffee. Cottage was homely and well equipped although garden could have been tidied up for use by young children. On saying this, would recommend and definitely would book again.

Well equiped and comfortable cottage in a great location. 15 minute walk into Lyndhurst and about 8 minutes walk to a great local Pub (Waterloo Arms). Lovely forest on the doorstep to explore. Had a lovely time.
