Superb walks along the rugged Cornish cliffs, from this character cottage with a beautiful four poster bed, and capturing the essence of a romantic retreat for two.

Ideal for coast or country

Steeped in local history, only 5 minutes from the beach, these properties (refs W2164 and W1633) provide wonderful holiday homes. They offer a unique chance to stay in part of a manor house dating back in parts to the 13th century. Attractively furnished and well-equipped, these are character cottages on a 500-acre working dairy farm, bounded by the sea and with superb walks along the rugged Cornish cliffs. A location used in the TV series of Poldark and Penmarric. The farm also features a 4000-year-old ’fogou’ (a cavern). The famous fishing village and artist’s community of St. Ives is only a short drive away to the east, while a little further west you can reach Land’s End. Penzance with its abundance of shops, restaurants and pubs is 7 miles, and from here you can take a boat or helicopter ride to the magical Isles of Scilly. Golf, surfing and fishing available locally. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen. Steep, narrow, open-tread stairs to first floor: 1 double (four poster) bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet.

Just a few small things - several of the spot lights were out in the kitchen and the upright lamp. A garlic press and sharp kitchen knife would be appreciated. A light outside in the courtyard would be useful. The books were very old fashioned - some modern novels would be useful.

Incredibly charming cottage in ancient building. Fantastic walks.

Beautiful location and building but was disappointed by the smell of damp and wet dog. I understand that it was dog friendly but didn't expect the string smell. The sofas were very smelly and the bed upstairs felt damp. The shower is so ridiculously small that you need to have shampoo etc under your arm as there is no shelf and absolutely no way you can bend over to pick stuff up whilst in there

We really enjoyed our stay at Up Over Head, Manor Farm. The location is beautiful, very rural and yet only a few miles from Sennan, St. Ives, Penzance etc. The farmer was very friendly. The cottage is actually attached to the Manor, which is mainly 13th century, and was where the servants would have lived. We would definitely like to go there again.
