Under Moor Cottage is located 1 mile away from Blaenau Festiniog, and is also ideal for visiting Betws-y-Coed and the Conwy Valley.

This delightful mid-terraced holiday cottage, situated on the outskirts of town, dates from the 18th century and features a warming woodburner, a small terraced garden with a barbecue and great views of the surrounding mountains. The former slate quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog is rich in heritage, with the famous Ffestiniog Steam Railway providing a spectacular journey down to the coast at Porthmadog. There are several fantastic attractions, including the Stiniog downhill bike trails, Bounce Below, where you can trampoline underground in a slate cavern, and Zip World Titan, where you can go down ziplines. Black Rock Sands and the Italianate village of Portmeirion are within easy reach; whilst in the other direction are Betws-y-Coed and the Conwy Valley. Beach 9 miles. Shop and restaurant 1 mile, pub ½ mile.

Lovely little cottage which is very well kept in the heart of Snowdonia. Great for day excursions and having a car is a must! Would definitely book to go here again.

Great area and plenty of things to do. This cottage just needed a little tlc and it would have full marks from me. (A little grubby and the information pack was clearly out of date 2016 calendars)

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner. I am saddened to hear that you felt the cottage needed some tlc, especially as we have recently renewed the painting in a number of rooms prior to your visit along with regular thorough cleaning, over and above that of the regular house keeping between guests. The guest information book was actually updated this April, but unfortunately the council no longer publish a paper copy of the recycling calendar, preferring residents to check online, so as a guide we had opted to leave the 2016 version for easy reference.

Absolutely loved under moor cottage. It was nice and secluded but a close enough drive for supplies. Kate was really helpful and gave us lots of tips about where to walk & eat. The weather was terrible but if anything it made the weekend better knowing we had a log fire to go home to. Would recommend to anyone!

A lovely cottage within beautiful surroundings. Warm, clean and with everything we needed. Owner and housekeepers were both really nice to deal with. We feel lucky to have spent Christmas here.

A fabulous weekend retreat. We went for my daughters 16th Birthday. We arrived in the dark but then woke to the most glorious view from the front of the house. The owners had made a special trip to put up the tree in time for our visit so the overall impact of that first 24 hours was lovely. The venue is close to a lot of local amenities, and places of interest. I'd highly recommend going - It's a cosy cottage and we really, REALLY, didn't want to leave.
