We stayed here between Christmas and New Year and had a lovely 4 night break with our dogs. The cottage is well equipped but the lounge especially needs updating. Surface cleaning was ok but things like plug sockets etc need cleaning. Bathroom was being updated and looks nice so far. Lovely little enclosed garden. Very helpful owner and caretaker if needed.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thanks for your comments. The lounge is currently being completely renovated for 2018. We will also ensure all sockets are clean and new.

This cottage is disgusting. I have written to the letting agents with details. It is damp, dirty, dingy and stinks of soot. It is not fit to be let out.

A quaint cottage, peaceful location, my daughter and I along with our 2 dogs had an amazing relaxing week. The beach was a 20 minute walk away, New Quay a 5 minute drive. Our dogs loved the enclosed garden. Having read the other reviews of this year, we found the beds to be comfortable, we didn't light the fire, the cottage was clean and homely. No mobile signal at the cottage which enhanced the relaxing atmosphere of the holiday to me, my 15 yr old daughter doesn't quite agree with me on that. Wi fi is provided at cottage.

Although there was plenty of equipment the comfort was not quite there with the double bed being very uncomfortable. Good location within walking distance of a beach but car needed to visit the main town of New Quay. Although on the surface the cleanliness looked ok, on closer inspection the cottage could have done with a good deep clean, especially the amount of cat poo that was deposited on the gravel driveway every day! Local amenities are sparse and a car is needed. Value for money was ok but have stayed in better for less. Overall a nice quiet location and what could be a nice cottage, with a good clean, reasonably priced.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner. Thanks for your comments. There are, indeed, few amenities within walking distance from the cottage unless you take the beautiful walk to the beach 20 mins away, you can also walk along the beach into New Quay a further 20 mins. However, most amenities are within a few minutes drive. One of the attractions of the cottage is its secluded location. The double bed in the main bedroom has recently been fitted with a memory foam mattress. It is difficult to see how to improve on this and we are not able to cater for all preferences in comfort. However, many guests remark on the good sleep quality of the bed. The cottage is cleaned thoroughly each week. It is a rustic, characterful property with old world charm. You only specify one aspect of the property which you feel needs attention, and that is the cat litter on the drive. It is impossible to prevent this permanently as cats act independently from their owners. We will continue to look at ways to overcome the problem. Always assuring you of our aim to provide good value for money at all times.

Brilliant cottage. Very dog friendly and lovely to sit out in the garden for breakfast and evening drinks. Very spacious with good storage for pets and humans! Local beach lovely and an easy walk from the cottage. Also wood walks oppsite the beach path with parking if you want to drive. Close to main road to Aberystwyth and Cardigan so easy to reach either. Many other lovely beaches en route. New Quay is also a great little town with another sandy beach that takes dogs in one part all year - paddling a must. Weather was fabulous and a real bonus. Couldn't have asked for more.
