Customers’ Choice Award 2017 & 2018
This well-presented holiday cottage is the perfect location for family and friends to retreat to and enjoy the surrounding area.

Ty Isaf (meaning ‘lower house’), is situated within the Brecon Beacons National Park, just outside the Carmarthenshire village of Trapp. There are lovely views of the surrounding countryside and Carreg Cennen Castle from the cottage grounds. This lovely cottage has been luxuriously converted into an attractive holiday home and is just a stone’s throw from Carreg Cennen Castle which was listed by The Times in their top 20 walks within the UK. From the terrace at the front of the cottage you enter via the sleek kitchen, which leads via two steps to the open plan living/dining area, with French doors out onto the rear patio and enclosed garden. The beams and high ceiling give a lovely light feel to the space and the stunning mezzanine bedroom with kingsize bed and TV overlooks the living room. There’s an additional bedroom on the ground floor with zip and link six foot bed. The spacious and well-appointed ground floor bathroom offers a Jacuzzi bath and a double size walk-in shower cubicle. Outside there is a store with heating, perfect for keeping walking gear and boots dry and warm, and space for bikes too.
The village pub is ½ a mile away, Glynhir Golf Club is 2½ miles away, and the town of Llandeilo, 3 miles, has a great selection of restaurants, cafés and pubs as well as a varied selection of lovely independent shops, including a famous award-winning chocolatier also selling exquisite homemade ice cream, as well as the very well known deli. The town holds various events throughout the year, including a music festival, jazz festival and the unique Festival of Senses in November. On the edge of the town why not visit Dinefwr Castle, the lovely National Trust Dinefwr Park and Gothic Newton House?
Carmarthenshire is abundant with historical monuments, wonders of nature and fantastic beaches. Travel over breathtaking mountains and lose yourself in the solitude of the vast countryside. Within a few miles you can enjoy days out at Aberglasney House and Gardens and the National Botanical Gardens of Wales, with the largest single span glasshouse in the world and a fascinating butterfly house – perfect whatever the weather! Shops and restaurants 3 miles, pub ½ mile.

Simply the best cottage we have ever stayed in! The owners have literally thought of everything and beyond to ensure you get the perfect getaway. The fabulous welcome hamper was simply the icing on the cake (Oh and the jacuzzi is divine and an absolute must do whilst staying at Ty Isaf Cottage) We can't wait to book this A* fabulous cottage again very, very soon.

This cottage is the best that we have stayed at, so well thought through. The owners have thought of everything! Comfortable, stylish, modern, clean, practical and homely. From the underfloor heating, to the mood lighting and the lovely welcome pack, everything was spot on. A sign outside and directions from the owners make it easy to find. Location is good if you want a walking holiday. The views from the cottage are stunning! We loved it, even when it was raining. The peace and quiet was incredible.

The cottage was an absolute delight. Everything was perfect including the welcome pack. The only disappointment was the weather!

An absolutely fabulous cottage, very clean and spacious for the two of us plus our collie dog. A very nice touch with the welcome pack which was useful on arrival. Would suggest having a car as a necessity as quite remote but very relaxing and only about a 10 minute drive to nearest shops and town. Definitely like to stay again

Ty Isaf is a lovely, modern cottage with all facilities and fantastic views over the countryside. The location is great for visiting the area, a car is essential to explore further afield and visiting the coast and lovely beaches, which are about an hour away but worth the drive. We had a great holiday and hope we will be able to visit again.

Lovely well appointed cottage in a wonderful location. Sitting on the patio looking out over the fields and vally was a real delight. All mod cons provided and top marks for cleanliness. The owners, and family members, were all very helpful when called on. Very nice local walk to and around the castle. My only reason for not giving straight 10's is we struggled a bit to find places to eat in the evening and the "local" was not for us I'm afraid. However some nice options within a few miles so definately not a blocker in any way. We would most definately book again and will remember a great stay for a long time.

We have been renting cottages for many years. This is by far the best cottage we have ever rented. Clean, modern, loads of character. I can recommend the jacuzzi bath. Lovely view from the cottage and the patio area. So good, we have already booked it for next year.
