Its doorstep amenities, as well as peace and quiet make it the perfect holiday base with lots of activities and attractions nearby.
Llangorse lies in the crook of the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains. With its stunning lake and breathtaking scenery, it’s a perfect setting for both the very active and those who prefer a more gentle and relaxing holiday. In high season, the lake offers fishing, rowing boats, canoe and kayak hire, while the Llangorse Activity Centre offers climbing, sky trekking and horse riding. A walker’s haven; public footpaths lead directly from Ty Gwilym and within easy driving distance, there are more challenging walks such as Offa’s Dyke, Pen y Fan, Sugar Loaf Mountain and Hay Bluff.
Ty Gwilym Barn is a peaceful retreat central to a wide variety of cultural and outdoor pursuits that the area is famous for. The major festivals at Hay-on-Wye, Brecon and Abergavenny are all within easy reach. Shop 3 miles, pub 200 yards.

This was our 4th stay here at Ty Gwilym cottage. Once you get there, you couldn't wish for anything more. Everything is there that you could possibly need. The little touches here and there make it more special, from the water and glasses in bedrooms down to the cake and wine left on your arrival. Alina and Martyn are the owners of this cottages and nothing is too much trouble for them. There are two pubs in the village..The Red Lion and The Castle. The Red Lion is our favourite and the meals there are really tasty and value for money. The staff are also very friendly. There is a supermarket in Brecon town to stock up which is about 15-20 minutes drive. If you like to go on walks, there are plenty of places to choose from, the waterfall walks are amazing. We're looking forward to returning in January for a week. Well done Alina and Martyn for a fantastic cottage.

Ty Gwilym completely lived up to expectations. Everything was provided for our comfort and the Barn was very spacious and well equipped. We wouldn't hesitate to return in the future. The icing on the cake was the beautiful countryside and friendly people.

A lovely cottage in a great location with good access to local pubs The hosts were very helpfu, living near by if there was an issue which there wasn't. We were greater with a lovely cake on arrival and a bottle of wine, & bubbly, which was a lovely gesture. Only negative is could do with more comfortable beds. All in all a great stay
