The grounds of the property were lovely and the conversion of the barn was well done, bedrooms were perfect and cosy. Living area needs just a little more cosiness/comfort to make it a warmer winter let, perhaps some bright throws and cushions would really lift that beautiful retro ercol furniture. Location is central to all the activities a walkers/hiker or beach lover would like. We would return again probably in the summer. Just a little grumble on the description, perhaps it could be made clearer that the electricity is an extra cost, saying it is on meter does not make this clear.

Cottage located in a lovely area of wales. The cottage facilities were below the usual standards for cottages we use, furniture cooking facilities, garden. The cost because it did not inc electricity and provision of towels was higher than we expected. Overall it was less welcoming and had little contact with anyone, except when ants invaded the lounge.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. We were sorry to hear that they felt that this was an expensive holiday. At about £85 per person for a week in July, I would think that it was good value. There are clear pictures online showing the property interior. I am sorry you feel that you had little contact with people; generally most people find the Welsh friendly and like to have privacy in their accommodation. We are sorry to hear you had a problem with ants.

Problems started with inaccurate directions and a sign visible only from the wrong direction. Were it not for a helpful Welshman happening to be leaning on a gate, who knows where we would have ended up. We then found that the single key for both doors only worked from the outside. We were locked indoors with no mobile phone reception to call for help and a dog needing to go out. I, a 66-year old grandmother, had to climb out of the window to open the doors. Admittedly this was sorted out after a couple of days, but the key was still temperamental. The back bedroom smelled musty and was damp. The cottage was chilly in the mornings when one did not feel inclined to wrestle with a wood burning stove, which did not stay warm overnight. Lists detailing costs for crockery breakages, logs for more than the one evening provided, use of the washing machine, towels etc did not make for a welcoming atmosphere.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you very much for your comments. I’m sorry you got lost we have never encountered this before but living in a very rural location I can only apologies that you came across this difficulty. I feel very upset for your family having gone through the trouble with the key and not being able to get out of the property, I hope you feel like we dealt with this promptly. We hope this doesn’t put you off visiting us again as I really feel the experience would be different now the above have been fixed. Once again thank you.

Beautiful and quiet cottage in fantastic rural location, at night it was so quiet and so relaxing. Easy access to the coast and Pembrokeshire for hiking, meals out, pubs and with it all beautiful views. Nights were so very dark, two nights we sat out in our own garden area and marvelled at being able to see the Milky Way, it was August too, so saw loads of shooting stars. Also had two half hour boat trip out to sea to go bird, seal and dolphin watching, excellent experience.
