Yorkshire Cottages

The Yorkshire Regional Specialist -Fantastic properties in the most favourable locations. No one knows Yorkshire better!

Impressive Grade II listed Georgian town house with cliff top garden which enjoys 180 degree views of Scarborough’s North Bay.

Breathtaking sea views of both the North and South Bays can be enjoyed from nearly all the rooms in this imposing, Grade II listed Georgian town house which is peacefully situated on the headland under the shadow of Scarborough’s historic castle and opposite St Mary’s church, the final resting place of Anne Brontë. Whilst retaining many original features, the house has been refurbished to an exceptional standard, with a hand-built oak kitchen and Travertine marble tiled floors. The first and second floor bedrooms enjoy either North or South Bay views; the first floor bedroom has a kingsize bed, original stone fireplace and en-suite with a magnificent raised bath, whilst two of the bedrooms on the second floor boast either a French bed or kingsize oak bed. The property also has a spectacular cliff top garden with 180-degree North Bay and castle views, as well as a hot tub. Positioned just a 5-minute walk from the heart of the town and a 10-minute walk from the beach, this makes a perfect holiday base for exploring Britain’s first seaside resort with its sandy, accredited North Bay beach, award-winning Sea Life Marine Sanctuary and working harbour with small fishing fleet, and South Beach where there are boat trips around the bay and a great choice of restaurants, bars and traditional seaside stalls. Music lovers can visit the Spa Complex, home of the only remaining seaside orchestra, or Peasholm Park which offers open air concerts and a variety of family activities, while the famous Stephen Joseph Theatre provides excellent evening entertainment. Further north along the Heritage coast lie the smugglers’ coves of Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes, and the North York Moors National Park is easily accessible with its steam railway, quaint villages and stunning scenery. Shop and pub 220 yards.

Beautiful house with views too match. We stayed as a group of 10 girls and there was more than enough space and the hot tub was fab.

Lovely house, perfect for our large family weekend away. Could just do with a deep clean because there were a lot of cobwebs on the lights and mould in the bathrooms. Would definitely return

Fantastic house with easy access to Scarborough. Had everything we needed and Penny next door was very helpful! We never got the lounge fire to work, we could have asked Penny but it wasn't too cold. As the house is set over 5 floors I got very fit over the weekend as I couldn't get my toddler out of the play room :) We were not aware that there was a public path on the other side of the gate at the bottom of the garden which caused some issues with my dog trying to jump off the bench and over the wall to "greet" walkers! The only thing that would improve this would be non slip paint on the decking and a jet wash between guests, it was green and very slippery which caused a couple of slips.

A great house - wonderful view, big garden and hot tub definitely big plus points. Rooms nicely decorated. Two of the showers need some attention however a great week for our extended family ranging in age from 9 to 70 years. Penny also very helpful with her local knowledge.

Fantastic holiday home with everything you need. The house was beautiful and had plenty of room for 9 adults and a 1 year old. Hot tub is a added bonus and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Views from the house are lovely but the street is quite steep so not good for people with some health issues. Parking was great a space in front of the house and 2 permits for the other cars on the roadside outside the house. The basement bedroom and living room can get quite cold but the bedding in all rooms were totally adequate. Penny the caretaker was lovely and helped out if we needed her. Would totally visit again.

Perfect getaway for the entire family with the beach only a few minutes away. Scarborough Castle is just up the road also. Plenty of places to eat, relax and shop. Penny was very helpful and welcoming when we arrived. Gave us a tour of the place and was available if we had any questions. She deserves a raise! All in all, a great holiday. Definitely recommend staying here if you haven't been already.
