Customers’ Choice Award 2018
A spacious country retreat with shared use of an outdoor pool, tennis court, games room and gym - perfect for families.

These two well-presented holiday properties (refs PEES and PRRS) stand adjacent to one another, in the grounds of the owners’ country house and gardens. They are superbly located, enveloped in rolling countryside and fields in a beautiful rural setting, accessed by a tree lined driveway with bluebells and daffodils in the spring. These attractive historic holiday properties make a wonderful retreat for couples or families, with shared use of a tennis court, heated outdoor swimming pool, gym, games hall and covered BBQ area. Scenic walks can be enjoyed around the owner’s 50-acre estate with lakes, horse paddocks and public footpaths which lead to the Wey and Arun Canal. They are well-placed for exploring the area; the quaint hamlet of Alfold has a church and shop and within easy driving distance are historic Guildford (trains to London in 30 min), the market town of Cranleigh, Horsham, Petworth, Brighton, Midhurst, plus many NT homes and gardens, as well as The North Downs and South Downs Way. Other tourist attractions which are within easy reach include Chessington World of Adventure, Painshill Park, Windsor Castle, Ascot/Sandown/Kempton/Epsom Races, Hampton Court Palace and Legoland. Historic Chichester and West Wittering Beach can be reached within a 45-minute drive. Gatwick and Heathrow airports are also within easy driving distance. Golf, fishing, riding and cycling can all be found within the area. Shops ¾ mile.

Cottage was a little cold on arrival but soon warmed up when we turned up heating. Duvets on single beds a bit small for adults. Cottage in rural location, peaceful and quiet. Games room good and no doubt pool in the summer.

Fantastic location for walks in the countryside with public footpaths through the property and close to the South Downs. Kitchen is downstairs with living room up steep flight of stairs but cottage is comfortable and well equipped with a great games room ajoining.

My Partner, Daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Turtles Barn. We were lucky enough to stay during Spring. Such a magical experience walking through the carpet of bluebells in the farm woods and to watch the lambs being born daily. Looking out from the kitchen and upstairs roof windows are stunning views over the paddocks and small lakes. The proprietors were very welcoming and we soon made friends with the Horse riders and other people working on the Estate. Beautiful surrounding walks and typically good Surrey and Sussex Pub Restaurants. Our Daughter really enjoyed visiting Fishers Children's Activity Farm just a few miles down the road. Thank you!
