There is free fishing for brown trout available nearby and many activities in the immediate area. Gleneagles Hotel and Golf Course are a short drive away, try salmon fishing on the Tay or the Almond or simply explore the rest of beautiful Perthshire. We had a great time for two weeks using the lodge as a base for my daughters wedding. The furnishings are older than the house itself and lend to the place a lot of character. Location is superb if you like it quiet with great scenery and a central base to explore from. One thing I loved is plenty of heat and hot water as you need it. We were preparing for a wedding with a house full of guests and still never ran out of hot water. The lodge loses marks a little for having little worktop space in the kitchen which is frustrating when you are catering for a party. Also approach track needs attention. You don't need a 4x4 today but if it deteriorates too much more then maybe. None of that would stop me from staying again though and I recommend it to others.

Great lodge, clean and tidy. Not much local so have to travel and is surrounded by farming land so had to drive to find a place to let the dogs loose. For a base to go out and explore it was perfect. Worth noting that the pond is a hazard for particularly small children and the back garden is not fully enclosed, so dogs can get out and into the neighbours garden. Despite these minor issues we had a great stay.

Eleven adults, two children and two dogs. Lots of room for everyone. Loved the peace and tranquility. Even the dogs were so chilled. Would recommend it to any big party of friends.

We stayed at Tulchan Lodge in July and had a really good time with family. Rooms are well presented with furniture suitable to a hunting lodge. We were in the turret room, which was lovely. Bed was very comfortable, but the shower let it down as it was very small and had annoying plastic doors and a shower head that kept moving around when you switched the water on. You have to be very careful driving up to the lodge as the drive is more like a farm track.

What a fabulous large country house. Perfect for a large group or extended family gathering. Lovely setting, very well equipped and perfect for that special get away from it all break/holiday. 12 of us were there over New Year - great stay, perfect for cooking for the group, lovely local walks, peaceful setting and short drive to Crief for supplies. Highly recommended! We would definitely go back.
