Description

Tastefully decorated property well located in the centre of Ulverston – a bustling market town close to the Lakes, Grange-over-Sands, Cartmel and Kendal.

This charming holiday cottage is situated on a quiet corner in the heart of the ancient market town of Ulverston. It offers quick and easy access to the many delights of Ulverston, home to the start of the Cumbria Way, with its old pubs, excellent restaurants and the twice-weekly market which is not to be missed. The Lake District National Park, Eskdale Railway, the World of Beatrix Potter and the Furness Coast are all within easy reach, as well as Lake Windermere and Lake Coniston which are 12 miles away. Ulverston has a wide range of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, a cinema and a leisure centre. Today it’s well known as a festival town with events throughout the year, including walking and art festivals in the summer months and the renowned Dickensian festival in late November. One of the town’s great claims to fame is as the birthplace of Stan Laurel. Whilst many Lakeland destinations have been developed beyond recognition, Ulverston still has an authentic feel and community spirit. All of the attractions of the National Park are easily reached. Bardsea and Askam beach are nearby, as is Dalton Zoo and the Dock Museum in Barrow. The Furness Coast boasts sandy beaches and good bird watching. Nearby family attractions include the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Lakes Windermere and Coniston and popular Birkrigg Common, with its incredible panoramic views across Morecambe Bay. This is a wonderful holiday location for family and friends to get away from it all. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

We stayed at trinity House from Dec.21st - 28th 2015. the house was decorated for Christmas with a small tree, crackers and lovely homemade mince pies etc. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms including a good supply of hot water were more than adequate. The house was warm and comfortable. we would certainly be pleased to stay here again, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. It's very convenient for 'popping into Ulverston for shopping or meals out.

LOVELY COTTAGE IN AN CONVENIENT LOCATION FOR LEISURE AND BUSINESS. WE WILL BE STAYING AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE IDEAL LOCATION TO EXPLORE THE LAKES AND OTHER AREAS, ESPECIALLY BY TRAIN (STATION A FEW MINUTES WALK UP THE ROAD) SUCH AS CARLISLE / LANCASTER. THE COTTAGE IS SITUATED IN ULVERSTON, WHICH IS A NICE SMALL TOWN WITH ALL AMENITIES. THERE ARE LOCAL WALKS TO MANY PLACES INCLUDING HOAD MONUMENT AND THERE ARE SOME GOOD PUB MEALS TO BE HAD IN THE ROSE AND CROWN. ALL EQUIPMENT AND NEEDS ARE MET IN THE KITCHEN AND OTHER ROOMS OF THE COTTAGE.

Due for a refurb and had a flood. The weather was to blame, sadly. Still want to return. My home town. Thanks for the rent!!

Warm, Clean and comfortable and a great position for the town. Although on the main road we could not hear the traffic. Good parking too.

Excellent cottage and very comfortable. Was expensive but may be because of time of year.

Very comfortable. Bedrooms and bathrooms superb. Heating controls a little confusing even with instruction book but we eventually worked it out. A good location as a base. We stayed during cold spring weather so bedroom windows shut should imagine very noisy in the summer as right on cross roads. Allocated parking space a bit difficult to enter if other cars already parked so wouldn't recommend for a large vehicle. Kitchen well equipped with everything needed for light meals. Very convenient to walk into Ulverston. We were visiting relatives near by so would definitely use again. Just one recommendation, some coat hooks would be good. We arrived in pouring rain and nowhere to hang our wet things .

This was a cottage of two halves; the upstairs, containing 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, was amazing, beautiful high ceilings and high spec decoration, the main bathroom was massive with a great shower. The downstairs however was much smaller, the kitchen was well equipped however the lounge area let it down a bit, the furniture was a miss-match of styles and a little bit tired. The cottage was spotlessly clean. The cottage was ideally located with the town centre a short 5 minute walk away. We took a walk along the canal towpath which was beautiful. Ulverston was full of cute tea rooms, independent shops and lots of pubs - great for a weekend away from everything.
