Trevalgan Holiday Farm is set against a stunning back drop of rolling fields, rugged cliffs and the majestic Atlantic Ocean, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is just a short drive to the picturesque harbour and town of St Ives, with its world class beaches, quality surfing, the Tate Gallery plus an excellent choice of shops, galleries, bars and restaurants. This working beef farm is located off the famous scenic coastal drive from St Ives to Pendeen, crossing wild heather clad moorland with dotted engine houses, a reminder of Cornwall’s mining past. The rich Celtic history includes standing stones and ancient burial sites, to the quaint village of Zennor with the ancient church, pub and tales of mermaids.
The location appeals to families during the main school holidays and equally to couples looking for a tranquil location to unwind, what-ever the season. The area is popular with walkers with convenient access on to the South West Coastal Path. Bird watchers are drawn to the area visiting the wide estuary at nearby Hayle and wild life marshes at Marazion. The region is perfect for guests wishing to explore – head west to Sennen Cove, Lands End, Penzance and the ancient town of Marazion with St Michael’s Mount perched on its rocky outcrop. The rugged north coast is popular with surfers and families looking for a great choice of quality beaches with sparkling clear seas, or those seeking a great base to explore the Cornish heritage and surrounding villages.
Sympathetically converted from former farm buildings, these semi-detached, single-storey cottages are contemporary, attractive, comfortable and well equipped. There are flat screen TVs along with CD players and iPod docking stations and, for those of you who can’t bear to disconnect, there is free Wi-Fi. There’s an indoor toddler play barn with a wide selection of toys and a pets corner where you can meet the resident chickens, ducks, and the stars of the show, the two, very friendly, pygmy goats. There is also an outdoor playground and an indoor games room for older children with pool, table tennis and table football. Beach 1½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
The Stable (ref UKC2766) and The Carthouse (ref UKC2767) can be booked together to accommodate up to 8 guests.
