Less than 3 miles from some of Cornwall’s best beaches, Crealy Adventure Park, Lappa Valley Steam Railway, Dairyland, Newquay Zoo and Treice House all close by.

Set deep in the beautiful Cornish countryside, Trescowthick is a real escape from the crowds, whilst being less than 3 miles to some of the county’s best beaches - most notably Crantock, Holywell Bay and the AONB of the Gannel estuary in Newquay. Trescowthick Barn (ref 26212) is a Grade II listed detached barn conversion, whilst Trescowthick Stables (ref 30497) is an attractive holiday home, all on one level, and was once the stables to Trescowthick Barn, which is located next door. The area is full of tourist attractions, both man made and natural. Amongst the best are Creally Adventure Park, Lapps Valley Steam Railway, Dairyland, Newquay Zoo, Trerice House and Gardens (NT), through to the beautiful beaches of Newquay (of which there are over 8), the dunes at Holywell Bay and Perranporth and the tranquil Gannel Estuary. The Gannel is a firm favourite with birdwatchers, kayakers and windsurfers and a perfect place for a walk with the dogs and a picnic. Newquay with its surfing culture is within 4 miles and guests can enjoy discounted surf hire and lessons. Try your hand at this exhilarating sport with local surf coaches. Horse riding, deep sea fishing trips, kayaking sight seeing trips are all available in and around Newquay. The famous Fistral Beach provides everything you need for that quintessential ingredient of any beach holiday, crabbing and rockpooling followed by a beach BBQ as the sun sets out to sea. Just a few miles up the coast you will find Watergate Bay, home to Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall restaurant and a water sports centre plus a mile of golden sand backed by dramatic cliffs that make this area so unique. Further along the coast road will bring you to Padstow home to the gastronomic empire of Rick Stein including his Fish and Chip Shop (get there early to avoid the queues). Padstow, with its quaint working harbour and narrow cobbled streets that all gravitate back the harbour, are awash with craft and gift shops, galleries and cafes and a real must for all that visit the area. The Camel Trail starts here and bike hire is plentiful at the start. The Eden project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, St Ives, Port Isaac, home to TV’s ’Doc Martin’, Fowey, and Truro, the county capital are all easily reached from Trescowthick and are all a must to enjoy the diverse aspects of this historic county. Beach 3 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

We stayed for Christmas with 3 generations of the family. It was a great stay. The kitchen is large, comfortable, pretty well equipped and we eat all meals there. The lounge, conservatory, and lounge area provided room for the various generations to escape!!! The games room occupied both the adults and kids. Good walks in the area but whilst there is a good local walk you need to be prepared to drive for the best walks or cycle rides. The bakery next door was excellent and the butchers in Newlyn East, just 5 mins drive was fantastic. The owner lives on site and was really welcoming and helpful

A spacious well appointed cottage in a lovely rural location, very suitable for a large family or group of friends. Newquay, beaches & shops are 3/4 miles away. The kitchen is wonderful but mattresses in the children's room were lumpy & uncomfortable. Also we couldn't find a lead for the Blue Ray player, which was a bit disappointing, and there was a complete lack of small bins/ baskets, for litter in living areas & bedrooms. However, the gas BBQ was marvellous & the garden & courtyard had plenty of comfortable seating. The inclusion of towels was most welcome. We had a lovely week and it suited us but we visited in August and felt that it was perhaps a bit overpriced .

Fabulous property, old converted barn on a small farm, with a bakery next door (fresh bread and Cornish pasties available amongst others) Very quiet being at end of minor roads but plenty of room for all 11 of us. Easy access to the beaches (Crantock is a 15 minute drive (and that allows for all the holiday traffic)). One downside in our opinion is that the oven is no where near big enough to cook for 11 people, have pointed this out to owner and it is on the agenda for replacement.

Had a lovely holiday in this lovely spacious house and garden, it is well equipped and comfortable. The only draw back was the terrible mobile phone signal and almost nonexistent wi fi. Also, the back garden is not securely fenced which was a bit of a nuisance with our two dogs.

Fabulous cottage in an ideal location. Hidden away yet easily accessible to A30 and A39. Definitely would book again.
