We really enjoyed our stay in the Long Barn. It was very clean and well-equipped and the owners were welcoming and unintrusive. The location is rural and beautiful, and the grounds of the cottages are pristine! We particularly appreciated use of the paddock for our dog and for kite flying, and the stars at night are an amazing sight. There's a DVD player but no DVDs (so take your own), and a few extra towels would have been useful. The twin bedroom is at mezzanine level above the kitchen and there is no storage up there for clothes, which again would have been useful. If you have young children, a travel stair gate for the top of the stairs to the mezzanine would be another useful item to take (we took one and are glad we did).

The Long Barn was nice on first appearance and is set within the grounds of the owner. It is also close to lovely parts of Cornwall. During the week there were a few niggles: No chest of drawers in the bedrooms so you have to live out of your suitcase. There is a makeshift wardrobe. Bedroom window is directly above the neighbour's car park space. Smell of heating oil through the lounge window. I wouldn't recommend bringing young children - the blind cords are accessible and lethal on the staircase and the owner leaves a lot of cleaning chemicals at knee height despite the warnings on the bottles. Mildew in the shower. There are a lot of rules and you have to sort the chap's recycling for him in a particular way. The whole experience was a little claustrophobic with a lot of interaction from the owners - less of an escape and more of an 'experience'.

Couldn't fault the Long Barn. It is a great place in a nice and quite area. The rooms are very comfy and has everything you need on your vacation. i would have no hesitation in staying or recommending the place.

We liked the barns location and the fact that it was dog friendly with a large paddock for walking and playing with the dog. Being a rural location there were plenty of other walks to take the dog on. The owners were friendly and welcoming and happy to help if required. The village pub was also a joy to use. The staff there were friendly and helpful and the food served delicious, if a tad expensive. All in all we enjoyed our week at the barn and would be happy to book it again.

the barn was cold on arriving and appeared no one had been staying prior , due to the open plan of the barn the only rooms warm were bathroom and downstairs bedroom. If we booked again it would be in the summer to avoid the coldness of the barn.

The Long Barn was perfect! Use of the 2 acre paddock is a real bonus, and the property itself is exactly what we look for. Excellent value for money during Feb half term. Lovely features like beamed ceilings, modern facilities like dishwasher and a very peaceful location. The owners are lovely; very helpful whilst maintaining the perfect balance of guest privacy. We will definitely return.

I would have been a lot happier if there was no cobwebs in the house but they were in every room and my cleaning means you clean cobwebs away so this why my score is low as we have had cheaper places that did not have cobwebs We're every one said they very kind people man kept asking us to pack the car his way and as I am disabled my husband was parking with my door close to the house door
