‘‘Character cottages occupying a tranquil setting on Cornwall’s coast...’’

Situated in a tranquil hamlet just 6 miles from the coast, the cottages have been converted from barns dating back to 1824 and retain many original features. They are set in an enclosed courtyard garden, each with its own barbecue area.
Tregrill Farm is ideally located for visiting the whole of Cornwall, South Devon, Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor, with countryside walks accessible directly from the door. The stunning South Cornwall Coast, with its attractive fishing villages such as Polperro and Looe as well as the famous South West coastal path, is a short drive away. The fishing port of Looe can also be reached by taking the scenic train journey from Liskeard (2 miles). The maritime city of Plymouth is only a 30 minutes’ drive away with the National Marine Aquarium and its historic Barbican district. The fantastic Eden Project (10 miles), Cotehele and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are amongst the many wonderful Cornish gardens and historic houses which are within easy reach of Tregrill. The Rame Peninsula, known as Cornwall’s Forgotten Corner, is close by with picturesque villages and quiet beaches and Whitsand Bay which is popular with surfers is only 8 miles away. Watersports such as windsurfing, canoeing and fishing can also be enjoyed at Siblyback Lake (5 miles); Adrenalin Quarry and Karting are less than a mile away. For indoor activities the cottages share the use of a games room with an antique snooker table (for over 16s only), table tennis, darts board and hi-fi. Shop and pub ½ mile.

The four of us enjoyed a brilliant week; the owners lived next door and were always at hand if we needed any help, or advice on the local area. The cottage is perfectly situated for our travels to both coasts and into the moors. We unreservedly recommend that you stay...you'll love it ...And visit The White Hart Pub in Menheniot, the food is lovely and the staff are brilliant.

Lovely cottage which is well appointed and comfortable. We had a visiting mouse which we didn't mind but did mean we had to keep the kitchen spotless each night. There's also a damp smell when you first enter the cottage.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner:- We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Apologies for the mouse, unfortunately on a farm this does occasionally happen especially if the weather has been nice enough to leave doors and windows open. In this case we did manage to catch in the humane trap the following day. We have a forced ventilation silent fan working in the cottage to help air circulate through the stone walls and don't have damp in the cottage, if there was a damp smell we can only apologise as it is likely the bathrooms had not been adequately ventilated after use. The barn was built in 1824 and unfortunately bathrooms, even with fans, don't ventilate adequately without this.

I must be hard to please or i'd have given 10. Lovely place to stay. The owners were great, we really liked them. Everything we needed was provided at the cottage including a dish washer. We made good use of the snooker table, table tennis and darts board in the games room during the evenings. Also the barbacue in the garden came in useful a couple of times. This is the perfect location for days at the beach, (Looe, Polperro etc.) and walks around Caradon Hill, Minion and The Parish of St Cleer which it is believed was the home of the last king of Cornwall. We walked the country lane to the local pub and shop. The white Heart serves a good meal. I highly recommend staying at Provence.

We had the wettest week of the winter, but were warmly welcomed into the cosy accomodation. It was spacey and well equipped, with great big comfy sofas to curl up in with a good book. Being more used to a coal fire I found the wood burner harder to keep going but it warmed up the room and made it seem homely.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We're glad that you were warm and dry and had a cosy, enjoyable stay with us. Sorry for the Cornish rain.
