Description

Tranquil location with walking from the door, with windsurfing and fishing at Siblyback Lake close by.

‘‘Character cottages occupying a tranquil setting on Cornwall’s coast...’’

Situated in a tranquil hamlet just 6 miles from the coast, the cottages have been converted from barns dating back to 1824 and retain many original features. They are set in an enclosed courtyard garden, each with its own barbecue area.
Tregrill Farm is ideally located for visiting the whole of Cornwall, South Devon, Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor, with countryside walks accessible directly from the door. The stunning South Cornwall Coast, with its attractive fishing villages such as Polperro and Looe as well as the famous South West coastal path, is a short drive away. The fishing port of Looe can also be reached by taking the scenic train journey from Liskeard (2 miles). The maritime city of Plymouth is only a 30 minutes’ drive away with the National Marine Aquarium and its historic Barbican district. The fantastic Eden Project (10 miles), Cotehele and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are amongst the many wonderful Cornish gardens and historic houses which are within easy reach of Tregrill. The Rame Peninsula, known as Cornwall’s Forgotten Corner, is close by with picturesque villages and quiet beaches and Whitsand Bay which is popular with surfers is only 8 miles away. Watersports such as windsurfing, canoeing and fishing can also be enjoyed at Siblyback Lake (5 miles); Adrenalin Quarry and Karting are less than a mile away. For indoor activities the cottages share the use of a games room with an antique snooker table (for over 16s only), table tennis, darts board and hi-fi. Shop and pub ½ mile.

A very spacious cottage with all you need for a family holiday.Plenty to see and do in the local area.Very good Convenience store in village.Excellent directions. Some Autumn cleaning /or replacement of soft furnishings could make this five star.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner- Thank you for such a nice review, were glad you enjoyed your stay. well be sure to pass on your praise to the owners of the shop in the village. Our soft furnishing are cleaned twice a year in all of our cottage, but we agree that the New England sofas need replacing and were searching for a suitable replacement.

A lovely homely cottage which spacious and suitable for a family and the dog. Decor was pleasant but some of the furnishings ( such as lampshades and cushions) were tired looking. The kitchen appliances were all in good order and easy to use. Overall it was clean and tidy , however some surfaces ( such as top of fridge, and bin lids were not thoroughly clean.) Was delighted to see the use of Eco-friendly cleaning products throughout and the recycling facilities and bins were excellent. Good parking, very dog friendly with good local walks down the lane and an enclosed garden, safe for the grandkids. Good TA he of furniture throughout and the beds were extremely comfortable, with fresh and contemporary bedding. All in all a great place to stay with easy access to a lot of local attractions, with others such as Eden and Lanhydrock not too far away. Season beach was super, thanks for the tip.

Response on behalf of the owner:- Thank you for your review, and for your positive comments. We try to keep everything fresh and up to date, and the lamps were only purchased two years ago so we're disappointed that they're already looking tired. Sorry you found the bin lid and top of the fridge had been missed by our housekeepers, if you had let us know we would have certainly rectified this. We have mentioned this to the team so this doesn't happen again. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

This was our first time away with a dog and it was lovely cottage with lots of facilities and dog friendly. We had a very relaxing trip with lots of coastal walks in the local area. Everyone was very friendly and we had some excellent food in some of the recommended pubs and restaurants.

A really lovely holiday barn offering all the comforts of home and very well equipped. With 3 very nice bedrooms (we only needed 2), the master bedroom with four poster bed is particularly comfortable and quiet, well the open plan living upstairs is great for families and friends to gather, a really socialble space. The barn is in a small and very quiet courtyard of cottages, but each with its own privacy. The complex also comes with a very well equipped games room for added entertainment, though the location means the South coast of Cornwall and Bodmin Moor are very easy to explore, while the North coast and places such as Port Issac, Boscastle and Padstow are less than an hour away. A great holiday barn, in a very good location, supported by very welcoming owners.
