amazing location beautiful property very well equipped just booked for a return visit (cant wait to go back) only a couple of things let it down could have been cleaner and only 6 squares of toilet paper in the bathroom after a 7 hour trip with three kids not good !!! was expecting a little more of a welcome pack as it was very basic to other cottages we have stayed in. But you cannot get away from the fact the view is simply stunning and the local area is very beautiful and the people very friendly.

One of the best views in town, so you expect a steep hill, but manageable in a front drive Skoda Yeti without any problems. Easy access to some good walks and to the train for travelling up the valley to Liskeard. House has a modern interior and very comfortable. You will keep fit staying here with the walk up the hill, but the views make it worthwhile.

This is an excellent property with stunning views from the glass fronted lounge, deck area and main bedrooms. The property is spacious, well furnished and equipped. The access road is extremely narrow and steep. It is perfectly manageable in a small or medium sized car but not possible in a large car or 4x4 due to a narrow walled section near the top. Suggest sending one person in front of car as meeting another vehicle would be a big problem. Otherwise no issues with this property and Looe is an excellent location. The foot ferry goes from the quay to East Looe when the tide allows.

Whereas the location of the property was outstanding, and there was obviously a price premium attached for that location, the fact that the difficult access was not mentioned in the property description I find to be disingenuous at best and at worst a deliberate attempt to mislead. Anybody with very young children, health problems or the elderly will not find the location easy to deal with. Any vehicle above the size of a small call will struggle to get to the property. The neighbours mentioned this and seemed exasperated. The closest parking is at least 300m away and will cost £91 per week with no guarantee of a space. The facilities were great and the cottage was comfortable and there was plenty of space. The cottage was generally very clean but there was a pervasive smell, particularly in the bedrooms.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; The residents of the lane drive up and down this road many times a day. It is a Cornwall lane, which are known to be narrow, as mentioned on the website. Many other guests in vehicles ranging from estates to people carriers have navigated the lane, (see the previous comment below). The property manager offers to drive all new guests to the house. Guests are given the opportunity to gauge if they are comfortable navigating the lane. For those not comfortable driving along narrow lanes, alternative parking can be found in Looe, including free on street parking. It is the first time a guest has mentioned a smell in the property. The property manager has investigated and has found that currently there is no pervasive smell at the property.

Outstanding accommodation with stunning views. Drive up to parking fine for able drivers but hill does need to be considered for less confident, disabled, elderly or very young. Best place we've ever stayed in Looe!

the house was absolutely beautiful all equipment in the house was top spec from the beds to the cutlery. views well they where amazing laid in bed watching the boats go in and out the harbour was like been on another planet . but like everything there was a couple of downfalls spiders cobwebs in several places that had been there a while they where huge ,and I do think that the access road should be described better luckily we where all fit enough to climb the hill each day as having a 3 month old car the hill was a no go we paid to leave it on the harbour side which wasn't that cheap for 2 weeks all in all we had a great time in tregolva and would consider staying again

Tregolva is a beautiful large house with four bedrooms and two bathrooms, with stunning views over Looe. It's got parking for two cars easily, three small ones with manoeuvring. The road up to the cottage is steep and narrow with a bit of a bend and a chicane. It's tricky but do-able. I wouldn't like to do it in anything other than dry conditions. It did put us off going out in the car while we were there. There are also about 25 steps down to the cottage from the parking. It was clean and comfortable. We didn't use the woodburner. Wifi was very reliable. I would have liked a washing line (we had a baby with us). Travel cot and high chair provided. Take a mattress for the cot. Looe is lovely. A quay, a beach, nice shops and cafés and pubs. We went sea shanty singing in The Jolly Sailor. We did a not very successful fishing trip! A lovely holiday.

The view is simply breathtaking and we love staying there. The drive is a bit hairy but ok once you get use to it. Overall a great place to stay.

The view from this property is incredible and the finish fantastic. I'd recommend looking at the hill on google maps before you go, it is steep, with a bend and a pinch point but if you're confident driving hills it will be fine. It is worth mentioning there is a huge car park in Looe within easy walking distance of the property which takes away all concern about tackling the hill !!!! Great house, nice touches and a great time watching the fishermen coming in every night !!!
