This is an excellent house with great views out over the harbour and beyond, suitable for any reasonably fit person who can manage the short but steep climb up and the steps down. The improvements to the ground floor are welcome - just needs a range of coat hooks in the utility room to finish it off! There is a Spar shop nearby for newspapers and provisions and Hannafore is a short walk away, with the coastal path to Polperro beyond. Looe has a railway station on a branch from Liskeard that has several halts from where you can start or end country walks. The moors beyond Liskeard are not far away and well worth exploring. We have been twice and have booked for 2018 already.

4th stay at Tregolva. As ever, no issues with the steep driveway. Stunning views and great location. Whilst its noted there have been new furniture and appliances added since our last visit, one of the beds is propped up on books and the downstairs bathroom is in great need of redecoration. As an observation, if guests were made aware of a planned time for a gardeners visit, the benefit of a tidy garden would outweigh the interruption of the work completed.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you very much for your constructive feedback. It is extremely helpful. The downstairs bathroom and utility room have undergone extensive refurbishment in November 2017. We have also arranged for the exterior of the property to be looked after by an individual. The intention going forward is to coordinate the timing of the garden maintenance work with the guests in situ. We will address the bed issue as a priority.

The most beautiful view, we couldn't have asked for more. The hill is steep but little cars wouldn't have a problem. We would come back and recomend xxx

The main selling point of Tregolva is the breathtaking view that it offers of the whole of Looe. It was a lovely house although I would say that some of the furniture needed replacing and it was not well equipped in terms of basics such as oil, salt, toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, etc. Although we were warned beforehand about the narrow and steep lane to the house, it was still a bit of a shock, so I would advise everyone but the driver getting out of the car before you attempt it and also to really rev up and go for it or you will stall your car. But once we got the hang of it, it was absolutely fine. Looe and the surrounding area are stunning and we would definitely come again.

Although we knew the property was on a narrow lane we weren't informed on booking that it was also extremely steep and difficult to drive up and park. We are both good drivers and not nervous but this road was awful to negotiate we have a new fiesta and it nearly burnt the clutch out. This must be on the booking site. The front concrete yard was slippery due to algae. The view from the cottage was amazing and the bed was very comfortable and clean but the house was dusty and the recliners broken also the bath panel was loose and the curtains in bedroom had come off the track. All could be rectified but this was listed as a luxury accommodation.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; The description of the access on the website has been amended. However, it is worth mentioning that the vast majority of guests in vehicles ranging from estates to people carriers, have navigated the lane. In addition, the residents of the lane drive up and down this road many times a day. It is a Cornwall lane, which are known to be steep and narrow. The property manager offers to drive all new guests to the house. Guests are given the opportunity to gauge if they are comfortable navigating the lane. For those not comfortable driving along narrow lanes, alternative parking can be found in Looe, including free on street parking. Thank you for bringing the other issues to our attention. The concrete yard has been treated as part of the regular maintenance program and the curtains have been fixed. Unfortunately the recliners have been damaged beyond repair; leather footstools are available at the property. The condition of the bath panel has been checked. Finally, cleanliness of the property is extremely important to us and we are surprised by the dust comment. We will continue to make cleanliness a top priority.

Amazing location and superb views, hard to beat, we had a great holiday. A delightful house and a great central location for walking and travelling to hidden coves. Some things let the house down - beautiful curtains in the bedrooms but such a shame they haven't been hung properly. The outside area towards the steps is very slippery when wet due to a build up of slime. The hill was a shock but my husband likes a challenge. We would recommend for safety reasons that other passengers in the car get out to lighten the load - you need one person to walk up the hill to make sure it's clear, one person half way down (on the tight bend) to instruct the driver, otherwise it's an accident waiting to happen. You need a powerful vehicle and to be a confident driver. On the way down be careful not to scrape your bumper - sports cars and other cars with body kits will be in trouble due to the steepness.

We had a wonderful time at Trevolga and didn't want to leave! The most wonderful views, facilities and tonnes of space, all within a short stroll of a beautiful town with excellent amenities. Thank you and hope to be back soon!

Wow. Stunning views overlooking the harbour. Local shops nearby. Just watch out for that driveway.
