From a touch of luxury to characterful heritage, experience one of our truly inspiring holiday properties.

Enjoy ’upside-down’ living and unrivalled views from this unique property set on the cliff-side, yet close to the old-world village of Combe Martin.

Occupying the most superb elevated position, along the North Devon Heritage Coast, this unique holiday property is set up on the cliff side and offers unrivalled panoramic views over the bay and Bristol Channel from its principal rooms. Laid out over three floors, and of unusual ‘upside-down’ style, it makes the most of the vista from its third-floor living room and dining room, both of which offer magnificent views from their large picture windows and open out onto a spacious terraced area in which to relax and enjoy the view. Outside there are large terraced gardens, complete with furniture and barbecue.
The picturesque, ‘old-world’ fishing village of Combe Martin is a short distance away and offers its own small beach and rocky cove as well as a range of quaint local shops, tea rooms and pubs. Also well worth a visit is the pretty village of Berrynarbor, just ½ mile distant; situated in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it oozes charm and provides the visitor with tea rooms, a village shop/post office and an old inn (children welcome), all scattered among its traditional thatched cottages. For more extensive facilities, head for the popular harbour side town of Ilfracombe, offering boat and fishing trips to Lundy Island, secluded coves and beaches along its coast, as well as its own theatre, a swimming pool, restaurants and shops. Miles of golden sands await at the resorts of Woolacombe, Saunton and Putsborough – popular with surfers and beach lovers. Alternatively, head away from the coast and explore the wild open moors of Exmoor National Park (5 miles), where wildlife abounds and horse riding is readily available. Exmoor Zoological Park and Bossington Wildlife Park, within 10 miles. NT properties of Arlington Court, Watersmeet and Dunster Castle easily accessible. For great family days out, visit Dinosaur Park at Combe Martin, the Big Sheep at Bideford, or Watermouth Castle (just ½ mile from the property). Shops 1 mile.

Excellent directions, wonderful location, comfortable furniture and beds - but the property seems to lack care. The really poor points were (a) dirty dishes/cutlery discovered in dishwasher, and (b) toilet seat in ground floor bedroom was not fitted, completely loose. This room also had very poor shredded curtains, and there was no shower rail or curtain. With exception of ground floor toilet, none of the toilet/family bathroom doors had working locks, and ensuite showers were not very effective. In lounge, one ceiling light not working, ditto TV remote control. Place mats in dining room very shabby and badly worn, ditto some of the carpets. For these reasons, we would not recommend this property in its current state - a shame, because the views and surrounding walks were lovely. Please improve the property!

Whilst a little dated this house had everything we needed. Most importantly the view was outstanding and our family holiday was everything we were looking forward to. We would definitely stay here again.

The house has wonderful views and was clean and comfortable, including beds. Well equipped for the number of people. There was a bad leak in the roof of the en-suite bathroom on the top floor, whenever it rained making the bathroom carpet very wet, despite attempts to catch the dribble. This made the overall room a bit damp. The windows throughout need a good clean on the outside.
