Description

Set high above the North Cornish Coastal Path, this characterful cottage provides a cosy and tranquil escape.

Set high above the North Cornish Coast Path in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, these three holiday cottages enjoy views towards Trebarwith Strand, a good beach for surfing. Adjoining one another and converted to a good standard, they have all retained much character with beamed ceilings and slate flagged floors; with Purlinney also boasting a superb fireplace with a clome oven dating back to the 15th century. Set on a working farm, all three holiday cottages have their own sitting-out area and enjoy a superb tranquil location. Within a few miles are a selection of beaches including Polzeath, the sailing resort of Rock and the dramatic scenery of Boscastle and Tintagel. Eden Project within a ¾ hour’s drive. Shop 1½ miles.

Ground floor: Living/dining room with beams and slate floor. Kitchen. 1 twin bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. First floor: 2 bedrooms, 1 double (5ft) with en-suite shower room, 1 twin, both with wooden floors.

A wonderful cottage in a very picturesque, dramatic and secluded location. The owners were wonderful and very helpful. Not the best location for young children with little to occupy them if weather is poor. The description from the website is misleading. The drive to anywhere is along single track roads and can be hair raising if you meet a farm vehicle (or any vehicle) coming the other way! Reversing skills have to be 100%.

The cottage is well situated and is very comfortable with lovely beds and 3 bathrooms; owners very helpful and friendly. The courtyard decking provides a good outdoor eating area and when standing a lovely sea view - with the potential for great sunsets when the weather is in your favour. When sitting, it offers a great place to eat and relax or read without too much sea breeze. The short walk to the local Strand is straightforward and for a few more minutes you can easily walk to the steps at the end of the headland for a different view and a walk down to the pub for a nice evening out. The cottage is within easy reach of places like the Camel trail for cycle hire at Wadebridge, the Eden project, Bodmin and beaches like Polzeath (parking easier at New Polzeath this year) or Porthcothan - plenty of swimming, nice sand and surfing opportunities. We fished mackerel from Rock parking out of town and walking down with skipper Rodney from Rock Fishing Trips. Simply loads to do! Would certainly recommend this cottage
