This was our second stay in Treacle Cottage. We came briefly earlier in the year and we couldn’t wait to get back for a longer period. As before, we loved staying in the peace and quiet of this lovely cottage with all its idiosyncrasies and, given the exceptional September weather, we were able to make even more use of the large garden for meals and for general relaxing. We really love the local area and the nearby, friendly small town of Halesworth but, should you wish to travel further afield, not only are the main East Sussex attractions within easy reach but also a host of small market towns and attractive villages which are well worth a visit. Once again, Maureen and Roy, never intrusive, made us most welcome with a warm greeting, home-made cakes and other treats. Highly recommended.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your kind comments regarding your stay at Treacle Cottage, I would just like to gently point out we are situated in East Suffolk.

The house owners were both welcoming and friendly. A beautiful house renovated and jotted out like a luxury home not a sparse holiday let. Creature comforts were on hand as were tasty treats on arrival. Lovely place, lovely people. Definitely in the 'let's go back' list.

This was our second stay at Treacle cottage - we love the peaceful, private location and the owners are so welcoming! The cottage is a very clever converstion with everything we needed for a family of 5 - the children loved the garden and the twisty stairs in particular. I'm sure we'll be back again!

Beautiful cottage restored to amazing standards. Had a wonderful peaceful week. If you don't like it quiet it's not for you. It suited us perfectly and would go back anytime. The location is great with in reach of so many places with in half an hour at most, and 2 miles from halesworth for local shops. Roy and Maureen are lovely hosts, who have taken pride in their lovely cottage. The stairs are quite steep and wind so not fit for disabled.

Had a brilliant week staying in this 16th century cottage - with 21st century comfort! Good location for coastal and marshland walks and discovering East Suffolk. Helpful and friendly owners.

We loved staying at Treacle Cottage, it's a beautifully and sympathetically restored quaint and quirky building which has all the facilities, including a pretty garden, that make a stay a comfortable one. The bedrooms are lovely and we slept well in the palatial main bedroom. The cottage is in an attractive and quiet rural location yet it is short drive or an easy walk to shops, pubs and restaurants. Furthermore, there's quick access to the main routes to the Suffolk and Norfolk coastlines. We were made most welcome by the delightful and friendly hosts who were always ready to offer information and assistance if needed.
