This was our fourth visit to Travellers Rest as a family we really enjoy the house and location although we were slightly surprised that the heating and hot water was controlled remotely

With regards to the kitchen and preparation of food. This property was able to sleep 10, however, the fridge freezer was inadequate and needed updating. This was the same for the cooking utensils, pots and pans, toaster ....... Lots of knives and forks! The sleeping arrangements was perfect for our family however the bed linen was extremely poor and did not fit the old beds. The photographs of the outside garden areas were misleading as we imagined that the hills were accessible from the cottage. Positively, the cottage was warm, considering the gaps in the front door and the unhinged latches that did not secure the door, unless locked with the key.

An excellent self contained cottage in a good location. 6 adults and 5 children were comfortably accommodated with plenty of living space. We really enjoyed our stay and found the owners very responsive when we needed anything.

We had a great time at this cottage for a weekend away with a few friends. The cottage itself was beautiful, clean and well equipped. The only reason I haven't given 10's across the board is that it is listed as having a pub within a mile walking distance, which is true but it is a mile up some very steep hills and mostly on the road as there are no pavements (country lanes) and some of the walkways through the surrounding woods were unusable. This clearly isn't the fault of the owners though, just something to bear in mind if a short, easy stumble to and from the pub is what you're after. The garden across the road was perfect and was ideal for the dogs. Lovely place and would definitely consider staying here again.

What a wonderful week! With 4 adults, 5 children and two dogs we were worried about it being a bit cramped, but the cottage was a fantastic size and we barely bumped into each other! Kitchen was very well equipped and we enjoyed dinner there nearly every night of our stay. It was great to have a table we could all sit round too. Living room was huge, and gave the children plenty of room to burn off energy before bedtime! A super holiday in a beautiful part of our country, we have already discussed when we can all come back!

Loved the cottage. Just wish there was a phone as none of our mobiles could receive a network.

Was lovely place in a lovely area, but didn't like crossing the lane to get to garden with young children and dogs. Our fault we should have gone to a more family oriented place.
