In a rural location approximately 1 mile out of the historic market town of Barnard Castle, Town Pasture Cottage provides a warm and very comfortable base from which to explore the historic and cultural attractions of Teesdale. The living room is situated on the first floor to take advantage of the views of the surrounding fields and countryside. Set on the owners’ working farm, this detached holiday cottage is completely self-contained and visitors enjoy use of a large garden, ideal for unwinding after a day walking or touring. There is also a decked patio with table and chairs for relaxing or dining al fresco. The full, oil-fired central heating makes it an ideal location throughout the year. A local hotel with eatery is just a few minutes’ walk away and the market town of Barnard Castle caters for your everyday shopping requirements as well as being home to interesting antique shops, cafes, restaurants and galleries. Raby Castle, Egglestone Hall Gardens and the mangificent Bowes Musuem are a short drive away. Nearby bridleways, footpaths and riverside walks provide ample oportunity to explore the countryside including the spectacular waterfalls of Low and High Force. The central location also makes the cottage an ideal base from whcih to visit the North Pennines, the Yorkshire Dales, Richmond, Durham Cathedral, the Beamish Museum and Cumbria. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

    This is a great cottage with lovely views and the owner couldn't have done anymore to make our stay comfortable, there is lots to do and see in the area.
