The cottage is ideally located, in a peaceful position but with easy access to the city. Everything was very clean, we couldn't think of anything else we needed and if we had the owners lived next door and were very helpful. We had a lovely time, visiting friends and family nearby, going walks and trying out the local pubs for lunch.

I sent my parents here for their 40th wedding anniversary and they reported back that the cottage was excellent; very well equipped, in beautiful surroundings bursting with wildlife and close to Edinburgh- only £1.50 on the bus!

Torduff Cottage is one of the most beautiful locations we have ever stayed whilst on holiday. The cottage is conveniently located just 30 mins from the city centre (including a ten minute walk to the bus stop) and yet has the impression of being completely remote. The views are breathtaking. My husband and I discussed whether or not we would ever become bored of the view, if we lived there permanently… And decided we most definitely would not! And besides that, watching deer play as you eat your breakfast is always a thrill! Also within walking distance is the nearby Torduff reservoir – with miles of other walking paths to be explored. Ideal for dog owners (which, sadly, we are not). The cottage is perfectly equipped. We had no trouble finding anything we needed in the kitchen or utility cupboard. We even found a hair dryer – which was very handy as we had forgotten ours! Although this was a romantic break, (a stop on our honeymoon) the cottage is very well equipped for a family – including a cot and even a swing set in the garden! The cottage also benefits from WiFi and a full size television in the living room (which sets it apart from other similar accommodation that we have stayed in). Finally, about our hostess - Lynn, who was welcoming but never intrusive. There was a bottle of bubbly and a card waiting for us in the kitchen, which we were very pleased to see after our 350 mile journey! Lynn had also taken the time to put together a very useful folder of information about the cottage and the local area and we found ourselves referring to it regularly. The cottage is kept in perfect condition and is spotlessly clean. We really could not fault one single thing! Even the weather was kind to us – although this isn’t guaranteed at time of booking!!
