Description

Situated in the Central Wolds rich in the limestone that provides so much material for buildings and dry-stone walls alike, this lovely 300-year-old detached barn has been carefully renovated to provide a spacious and highly desirable holiday property

Situated in the Central Wolds rich in the limestone that provides so much material for buildings and dry-stone walls alike, this lovely 300-year-old detached barn has been carefully renovated to provide a spacious and highly desirable holiday property. It has achieved a ‘Fields of Opportunity’ award for ‘Best Converted Barn Holiday Let’. Located in a small secluded valley that has been farmed by the same family for generations, the property derives its name from a popular first name within the family over that time, including the present one. With an air of timelessness and the unspoilt nature of this small Cotswold hamlet, it is hard to believe that it lies just 6 miles from the centre of Cheltenham. The town boasts a state-of-the-art cinema complex, two renowned theatres, public gardens, a famous race course - site of the Gold Cup in March - and a wealth of restaurants, specialist food shops and excellent shopping in general. Cheltenham is a superb base from which to explore the full breadth of the Cotswold countryside, its villages, historic houses and internationally famous gardens such as Kiftsgate and Hidcote Manor. With excellent walking opportunities, three excellent golf courses within a few minutes’ drive and the chance to visit the many picturesque villages of the locality, including Bourton-on-the-Water, Lower Slaughter, Stow-on-the-Wold, and the many old inns that abound within an easy drive, this is an ideal spot for a country holiday with a difference. Shops 2 miles.

Fantastically equipped and renovated barn in a very picturesque location. Everything you could want in the kitchen ( except a Few more teaspoons would be good but not a complaint) The only drawback was we found the unpressurised water system only coped with one shower or bath at a time .

The best holiday house we have stayed in ever. Really clean, loads of space and well kitted out. Cheltenham and Cirencester a quick drive away.

Great location and accommodation for large family groups in a rural Cotswolds setting. Friendly owners who make you very welcome. We enjoyed excellent weather conditions for outside dining with the 'barbee' Even earlier or later in the season you have the wood burning stove to keep you warm. Our visiting family from New Zealand thoroughly enjoyed the Cotswoldcountryside and the children gave both gave the whole experience a score of 10 out of 10.

This was our second visit. It's a lovely place to relax. Very comfortable. The main rooms are big enough for the whole party to socialise.

So much better than the photographs depict. Utterly gorgeous house in a beautiful location. Really friendly owners, fresh flowers and bread on arrival. You will not be disappointed if you book this place. The perfect stay and will definitely be back.

Beautiful barn, very well presented and lovely little touches provided for our arrival. Wish we had found trampoline earlier in our stay!! Note it is in a remote village which is beautiful and what we wanted but shop is a drive away so be prepared!

Although I didn't benefit from it myself as I was ill- everyone else had only positive things to say about the barn and want to come back to it later this year! :)
