A nice terraced house opposite the pub, local shops, restaurants etc within 5 min walk. Lacking in character and charm inside the cottage, furniture which is too large, too modern and not as cosy as expected. The kitchen is well equipped again with furniture which is too large making it difficult to get to the oven, an enormous fridge freezer which is again too big for the room. The biggest thing missing is a shower, or even a hook for the shower handle over the bath . The bed was nice and comfy, and the house nice and warm even as it was very cold outside with lots of snow.

We went as a couple the cottage has all the amenities you could need. It is convenient for the centre of Kendal and near the lakes. The is a nice area for dog walking just up the road next to the river. Clean tidy little cottage ideal as a base to explore the area or a weekend away.

Nice little cottage in a good location near to the town centre, with a pub just over the road. The furniture is oversized and the dining table in the kitchen touches the oven and so is not ideal. The shower in the bathroom does not have a shower curtain and so washing was not easy. Also to note that the cottage does not have the internet and I would personally pay a little more to have this facility

Although the location was ideal, the cottage it self was not. We found the cottage very dark, the furniture and curtains in the lounge, were heavy and dark. The beds where clean, the bathroom was the best room in the cottage, but a shower rail and curtain would have helped stop every where getting soaked when washing, In my opinion, the cottage wants lightening up, curtains coming down, and blinds or voiles going on the one lounge window, simple furniture in the lounge would be more suited to a holiday cottage, and the ginnel access to the cottage door could have been made more attractive.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner :- All the walls are painted magnolia and the woodwork is painted white. The curtains in the lounge match the teak furniture and the rug. Kendal is dubbed 'the Auld grey town' and on an overcast day it can be a bit darker in the house. Blinds are on order for the cottage - the lounge window faces the street. All the furniture is new and the cottage is furnished to a high standard - although not everyone has the same taste, that cannot be helped. The details on the company website should show there is a bath, not a shower - although there is a shower attachment on the taps for hair washing. The photos also accurately depict the style and décor of the cottage, so guests can determine prior to booking whether it would be to their taste or not.
