In the seaside town of Fortrose on the Black Isle with panoramic seascape views across the Moray Firth

Tigh Na Mara (Gaelic for cottage by the sea) is situated right on edge of the sea in the charming seaside town of Fortrose on the Black Isle. This light and airy house enjoys panoramic views across the Moray Firth from its large picture windows – with the famous bottle-nosed dolphins making a frequent appearance.  There is a spacious lounge which overlooks the pretty gardens with uninterrupted views across the bay; absolutely idyllic. The conservatory at the rear of the property acts as a second lounge as well as another superb vantage point from which to enjoy the view. The good-sized family kitchen is well-equipped and the four generously proportioned bedrooms (one en-suite) are all attractively presented. A large family bathroom completes the picture. The gardens are a real delight. With mature borders filled with shrubs and flowers, a lawned area and a patio, it is an ideal spot to sit and watch the ever-changing seascape.

This cottage is in a great location with super views over the water and an ideal location for dolphin watching at Channonray point. Fortrose is a short distance from the cottage and has everything you need at reasonable prices. Bedrooms were all comfortable and well equipped and a decent sizes. Although it states 2 bathrooms, 1 is just a toilet and handbasin and the other a shower room with toilet and handbasin, which for us was no good but may suit others. There were booklets/instruction manuals for most appliances but not one for the cooker. Due to the bad weather a clothes horse for indoors was very much needed but not available (even though another guest had suggested this last September) There was no additional seating for the garden, so only two/three could have a seat. Having stayed in the cottage next door a few years ago, we feel this one is a bit too expensive. On the whole we had a great week.
