Surrounded by the Peak District National Park, this cottage is well placed for walking and cycling holidays.

Set in the heart of Buxton.

Positioned in a highly sought after location in the heart of Buxton directly opposite The Pavilion Gardens, with its 23 acres of award winning beautifully maintained land, these two Victorian holiday cottages (ref 30069 and 30070) and lower ground floor holiday apartment (ref 30071), adjacent to the owner’s home, have been immaculately presented to a very good standard throughout. Parking is located directly next to the entrance to the properties and is suitable for more than 1 car. Adorned with fine fixtures and fittings, period features and beautiful antique furniture, they are an ideal base from which to explore for those looking for either a break outdoors in stunning countryside or to soak up an abundance of cultural and artistic interest. Famous for its opera house which has a spectacular auditorium, and its diverse and varied architecture, Buxton itself has a large selection of boutique and independent shops, craft and gift emporiums. There are cafés and coffee shops, pubs, bars, artisan markets, festivals and street food - and, of course, you are surrounded on three sides by the Peak District National Park. Beautiful walks can be enjoyed at Rushup Moor, and cyclists can take advantage of the Tissington Trail. Cosy cottage with parking, in an ideal location, 5 min walk across the park to theatre, bars and restaurants. Friendly owners would definitely return and recommend to others.

We had a lovely stay in Buxton, two couples, one couple from Oxfordshire an the other Vancouver Canada. The hosts were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The location of the coachhouse was excellent, close to all the amenities in town but in a relatively quiet situation.

It was just lacking shaver-points, and shelving in the bathroom. Other than that it was the ideal hub for the local shops restaurants and our trips round the surrounding area of the Peak District. We will definitely at some stage make a return visit to this property.

Beautiful cottage, comfortable and well equipped. The owner was welcoming and very helpful. Situated next to the park and an easy walk to the centre of Buxton. Lots to see and do in the area. Highly recommended.

Fantastic location right in the heart of Buxton but with off-road parking. Headroom upstairs is very limited being in the crofts so anyone over 5ft6" be prepared to bend a lot if you are choosing to sleep upstairs. Very well equipped with everything you could need for a self catering break. The owner met us on arrival and showed us in. Our only real issue was there was no internet at all for the duration of the stay, it is advertised with WiFi but reading the guest book & based on our experience I would expect not to have any, as we didn't at all. The owner did attempt (unsuccessfully) to remedy this and was very helpful offering to let us use the internet in the main house but there is good 4G so we managed with that. We are both self employed so sadly even when we are away we need to stay in contact via email & social media but most people can (and should!) live without internet whilst on holiday. Certainly don't expect to be streaming NetFlix as even when it is working the provider is not a main one. A lovely place, quiet, charming and in walking distance of the town, gardens, opera house etc and the owner was very helpful with local knowledge and even gave us a bottle of wine and a bowl of fruit on arrival. Would recommend without hesitation to anyone not needing decent internet access for their stay.
