This is a delightful holiday home, the owners Kirsty & Mathew were very nice,I was even allowed to use their washing machine & tumble dryer as we were there for 2 weeks,it was very warm as it had under floor heating and a heated towel rail in the bathroom,we were visiting family and will definitely use the again, the free wifi worked very well, only dropped out a couple of times.

Had a really enjoyable time in this lovely little holiday home. The owners are very welcoming, the location is superb and the garden 'island' is amazing. We will be back that way in two years time and will definitely use this location again. Well done, your accommodation is excellent. X.

This appears to be a converted garage. It is very small and the photographs have the effect of making the accommodation seem more spacious. If you bring a dog with you then access to to the island where the dog can go is through the owners covered side access and down the garden. Again the photos make it seem like this is a view enjoyed from the accommodation. It is not. The wifi is patchy at best and we had to complain to the owner who recommended the local shop which had free wifi but eventually found a booster unit to enable us to receive patchy access to the Internet. There was no privacy with this property, the outdoor space immediately adjacent to it is on the owners drive, giving a view to the street and neighbours houses. The furniture is of poor quality and old. There is not much in the way of crockery and cutlery. All in all this did not represent good value for money.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We’re very sorry that you didn’t enjoy your holiday with us. We have had very many happy and satisfied customers, and repeat bookings. Some things are a matter of opinion, and others of facts. Many of our customers have loved sitting out in the attractive, beach style garden adjacent to the cottage, enjoying the sunshine and a glass of wine. We have very few neighbours (we live at the end of a cul-de-sac) and we were sad that you found this uncomfortable. The riverside garden is advertised as shared with the owners. The riverside seating area is secluded and there are many delightful spots across the bridge on the island. With regard to the Wi-Fi, you expected to watch live TV on an iPad mini, which we thought was a bit of a big ask. We do not have superfast broadband, and provide the Wi-Fi really as a means of people keeping up with their emails. The afternoon you told me about your problem I came over straight away and tried out various possibilities with you, and installed the booster so that you had access. I thought we had resolved the issue as you didn’t come back to me. I think your saying ‘eventually’ was unfair. You and your husband enjoyed our fabulous Village Community Shop and had made friends with the volunteers there. I suggested this as an alternative, because I knew you liked going there and it has a free internet café. With regard to your dog, the cottage is advertised with accommodation for one small pet. You applied to bring a Labrador with you, and were warned that you may find the accommodation cramped, you chose to continue with your booking. Most of our owners with dogs, expect to take them up the road for toileting. We were surprised when you asked what trees you could use, but kindly said that you could take the dog over to the island. I am not sure what you expected. With regard to crockery and cutlery your comment is nonsense. We provide 12 place settings of cutlery. The crockery even includes egg cups. There are four sizes of glasses. The cottage is small and yes we did convert our garage. One of our guests said they’d decided to call it ‘the Tardis’ as it contained everything you could think of. It is very well equipped, some of the furniture is vintage and the bed and the electrical equipment are of a high standard. The clients who stayed the week before you and the week after both left very positive comments in our book and said they would definitely like to come again.
