Welsh Country Cottages

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above..

A family group will love the space in this converted barn complete with a pool table and a hot tub hidden in the garden.

Set in 18 acres of beautiful rural countryside in the heart of Gower, this delightfully converted barn provides great family holiday accommodation. Adjoining the owners’ home, it is set in a relaxed and peaceful location. Full advantage is taken of the views from the decking area, which overlooks a fenced play area, fields, woodlands and a large wild flower meadow - as well as a pond with geese and ducks. There is also a hot tub for visitors’ use. This leads further on to a wooden summerhouse with a large deck overlooking a lake. This is truly a nature lover’s paradise, for young and old alike.
The Willows is ideally placed for exploring the Gower countryside, coastline and footpaths as it is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Nearby is Parc Le Breos, with its Roman burial grounds and pony trekking centre. Adjacent is the Three Cliffs Beach, which is overlooked by Pennard Castle and boasts an amazing view of the river winding down into the sea. A trip to Mumbles is well worth a visit, especially for those who enjoy fine cuisine. Mumbles is renowned for its collection of excellent restaurants and cafés, as well as being a traditional seaside town. One of the most curious landscapes in Gower is the reedy nature reserve around Oxwich Burrows, a flatland of salt and freshwater marshes. The marshes are dotted with pools and surrounded by ancient woodland which lead down to one of the most coveted beaches at Oxwich Bay. A local pub can be found nearby. Shop 1 mile.

All on one level. Spacious beamed living/dining room with wood-burning stove in stone fireplace, French doors and wooden floor. Beamed well-equipped, farmhouse-style kitchen with slate floor. Two double bedrooms, each with 6ft bed, wooden floor and one with en-suite shower room with double shower cubicle, toilet and tiled floor. Two twin bedrooms. Great space - indoors and outdoors. Made full use of the hot tub over Christmas. Boggy ground from excess rain meant we couldn't fully utilise the associated land. Owners friendly and left us to it after a brief tour. Potential renters should be aware of the single proper shower being part of the ensuite. Fabulous beaches nearby but will probably need to drive to any local shops.

We had a wonderful time at the Willows, we booked to celebrate my 70th birthday and it was really everything I wanted it to be. We are familiar with the Gower and had lovely walks on the beaches, our dogs were very happy. the men loved fishing the ponds and we all enjoyed the hot tub which was clean and hot. We cooked for ourselves and found the kitchen well equipped. We lit the wood-burning stove and had cosy evenings. Our hosts were lovely and I found a birthday card and some bubbles to help celebrate my birthday- a very kind gesture.

Firstly would we go back, "Most certainly" and would be more than happy to recoomend to friends, level area which is suitable for all ages.. A quaint property which is in a central location on the Gower peninsula, never more than an easy 20 minute drive through fantastic scenery to an amazing beach or cove. The property has all the comforts you need, a few issues which have been previously mentioned in reviews came to notice, but these are to be addressed during a refurbishment over the winter. Hot tub could be nearer the property but, it is also nice that it is hidden away in sheltered area. Not enough time to try the ponds for fishing but they looked more than inviting, wonderful setting for us and our dog.

Just returned from a fabulous holiday. Would throughly recommend The Willows. It was very clean and well equipped. The grounds are lovely and you can't get better than sitting by the summer house overlooking the lake and of course the hot tub, lovely! Hosts are very helpful and full of local knowledge but do not impose on your privacy. We will definitely go back.

Surrounded by beautiful countryside and 2 picturesque lakes. You immediately feel relaxed and at home. Family live near by and make you feel very welcome. Took parents away in their 80's, perfect setting for them as they didn't want to venture far every day - sat by lakes watching birds. loved feeding and stroking donkeys in fields. Even managed to get parents in hot tub 😀. Beautiful beaches 10 mins in car some being wheelchair accessible. Had an amazing holiday.

Spent three nights here to celebrate my best friend's hen. It's such a great location for a chilled out break with Swansea only a short drive away for a night out. The cottage is gorgeous, decorated to a high standard and very clean and spacious. We had amazing weather and enjoyed sitting out drinking a glass of prosecco in front of the summer house overlooking the lake. The hot tub got a lot of use too!
