This has to be the best cottage I have ever stayed in. The owner was really helpful and friendly. The facilities were outstanding and the view fantastic. The welcome pack and delicious home cooked cakes were a treat. Lots of fabulous places to visit Helmsdale, Golspie, Tongue, the Whaligoe steps, and Sinclair Castle to name but a few. My dogs loved the little beach at the foot of the steps and my elderly mam enjoyed watching the seal relaxing in the bay. This is a lovely peaceful relaxing place for a holiday and I can't recommend it enough.

When we arrived at the house, there was a lovely welcome pack. The house was spotlessly clean. Cannot fault it. There was just about everything there you could need, a real home from home. The hostess came and saw us, wishing us a good stay and letting us know how to adjust the heating if needed. There was plenty of towels and linen. The view from the sun lounge was fantastic, watching the sun come up and go down over the sea was something else. Seals were basking on the rocks close by was a great photo opportunity. The town of Wick is very small and the shops are limited, so you will need to travel if you want anything special. We would love to go back to the Waves as it was a great place to stay.

great holiday. out of fifty plus cottages we have stayed in, this is definately in our top three. could not fault this cottage everything about it is first class.the views from picture windows are stunning. top marks to the owners.the only blip we took our two dogs who had to be watched all the time they were in the garden as there is no secure fencing from the road.

A wee slice of heaven and Alyson was a joy to speak with. The perfect place to relax and unwind, fantastic views and information on local walks and activities. Off road parking for multiple cars and large secure area for drying gear or storing bikes or wet kit. The house was spotless, no worries about baby crawling around, absolutely spotless with wonderful en-suite facilities and the double sitting room means peace all day. Everything you need is there and more, there was even some delicious fairy cakes in the kitchen, milk in the fridge, and treats for the dog. Wholeheartedly recommended.

We had a good week at 'The Waves', and enjoyed exploring the far north of Scotland and the Orkney islands. 'The Waves' is a high quality place by the sea, with lovely views across the bay and beyond. Highly recommended.

An excellent holiday in a beautiful, well kept home situated in a very picturesque spot. Mrs Plowman is always helpful and welcoming. Little touches like home-made butterfly cakes, milk in the fridge, teas and coffees make it extra special.

We try to always get "the waves" when visiting family in Wick. It's so convenient and a great base for seeing the sights of Caithness and beyond. The house is so well equipped with everything you could possibly need taken care of. It's always lovely and clean and cosy on arrival.
