My wife and I enjoyed our Christmas & New Year break at the Waiting Room immensely, with welcoming, helpful yet unobtrusive hosts. A real "home from home". (Even when the weather was less than wonderful we were able to watch the many birds making good use of the feeders!) All in all, a very comfortable and cosy retreat. Heartily recommended.

It was a reasonable property, but had a lot of road noise. The owner failed to inform us of a nearest supermarket. The only shop we were told about was the truck stop, which was fine for a newspaper. No information about a local hospital, doctor or vet. There was very little information about anything. We were met when we arrived and bombarded with ruff information but after a long journey you don't tend to take it in, that's why written information is important. There was plenty of information about places of interest.

A really lovely property, with a great historyand lovely hosts. The Lune Valley is wonderful and it is well positioned for The Lake District/ The Yorkshire Dales/ Forest of Bowland as well as not too far for Hadrians Wall. The only down side is that it is right on a main A road, but we adjusted to having reasonable bed times knowing that we would be woken early. However, this would not stop us revisiting this beautiful property.

Stayed March 2017. Delightful cottage, well appointed, furnished and equipped. Superb walking area. Exceptionally helpful host/owners. Will definitely return. I could have happily sat all day watching the birds on the feeders. Acorn Banks and Settle/ Carlisle railway worth visiting
