Enjoy a holiday in this ’chocolate box’ thatched cottage, which has plenty of attractions nearby, including coastal resorts and a nature reserve.

A ’chocolate box’ style detached, thatched cottage just 1 mile from sandy beaches and providing well thought out spacious family holiday accommodation. An ideal base for exploring the Isle of Thanet which Turner described as having the ’most loveliest skies in Europe’. Nine of the fifteen sandy bays are Blue Flag winners and there is an opportunity to get involved in the Thanet Coast Project and seashore safaris. Take a boat trip and spot seals on the sandbanks, or cycle the Viking Coastal Trail - one of the most attractive leisure cycle routes in Kent, covering 27 miles. The golfer is well provided for and can tackle a variety of courses. Follow in the footsteps of Charles Dickens who was a regular visitor to Broadstairs and Bleak House, or enjoy the charm of Regency architecture and café culture whilst sipping a glass of wine overlooking the Royal Harbour at Ramsgate. Monkton Nature Reserve provides 16 acres of woodland and also a bat cave. Stroll up to the North Foreland Lighthouse – the last manned lighthouse in the country and operational until 1998. A great all season coastal destination offering lots of heritage and culture to discover and explore. Shops, pubs and restaurants 500 yards.

We had the most enjoyable and relaxing stay here. The cottage is ideal for families with children. A wonderful big garden, lots of toys, books and videos. Great kitchen equipment too.

We recently stayed at The Thatched House for a weekend in February to celebrate my Mother's 60th Birthday, we were a party of 10 adults and 1 baby and just wanted somewhere near the coast to spend a weekend together celebrating. The Thatched House filled all our requirements, the location was brilliant with us being able to walk or drive to Margate, Botany Bay and Broadstairs for a wander, as well as being near plenty of pubs which was very handy. The house itself is so ideal and suited our needs perfectly. We cooked one evening and one morning as the oven was so easy to use, as well as the other appliances, including the dishwasher, plus there is plenty of plates and cutlery to be able to do so. The only downside if we had to pick anything at all is that the heating and hot water takes a while to come through, which I'm sure in the warmer months isn't as much of a problem. Other than that, it made a special weekend extra special and I'm sure we will be staying again.
