On the outskirts of Bridport, 4 miles from the famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast, these two single storey barn conversion studios with beams, are full of character. Set on a working farm, they are spacious with a homely feel, offering very good holiday accommodation. Ideally located to explore this delightful area of Dorset, be it the rolling hills into Dorchester, Beaminster and Broadwindsor, or the spectacular scenic coast surrounding Lyme Bay between Weymouth, West Bay and Lyme Regis. There is coastal walking, golf, fishing, sailing and a whole host of attractions. Visit historic houses such as Forde Abbey and Gardens, Broadwindsor Craft Centre, Abbotsbury Swannery, Pecorama and much more. For days out, Poole, Swanage and the Isle of Purbeck have a lot to offer, as does the city of Exeter with its beautiful cathedral, famous catacombs and of course shops and restaurants. Don’t miss Lyme Regis with its famous cobb and picturesque harbour. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

All on ground floor: Living room with beams and stone floor. Dining room with double bed/kitchen. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. Digital TV. Electric cooker. Microwave. Laundry service. Freezer in outbuilding. Lawned garden with patio and furniture. Parking (2 cars). NB: Fenced pond, 10 yards.

It was clear the owners had put a lot of thought into their guests needs and we were pleased to see that they had provided not just tea, coffee and milk, but a fruitcake and four eggs too. The farm itself was charming, and the pond garden on one side of the Sty was wonderful. We also had our own little private garden with a table and chairs and a barbecue. It was great to sit outside with a glass of wine in the evening. The sty was nicely furnished in a traditional country style. The tiny kitchen area was well designed, although much of it, including the microwave was out of reach for a small person such as myself, so a step would have been useful. There was enough cooking equipment for our needs, although there was only one enormous frying pan which was too big for an omelette or fried egg. The crockery, glassware and cutlery were all matching and of good quality - it didn't feel like we had a mish-mash of the owners cast-offs as it does in some holiday rentals. The bathroom was lovely and everything worked well. The owners thoughtfully provided bath and shower gel. The bed was extremely comfortable and we appreciated the good quality bedlinen. If I could have changed anything it would have been the animal hide rug in front of the sofa, but that's being picky. Ideally we would have liked WiFi too, but luckily plenty of pubs in Bridport had free WiFi.

First holiday in Dorset but unfortunately the weather was dreadful forcing an early return home. The cottage is on a working farm although only ever saw sheep. The cottage consists of one room and bathroom and you are inclined to get cabin fever. Everything is provided included a welcome gift of fresh eggs and buns. Tastefully furnished and dog friendly and were provided with access to a large gated and fenced field for dog exercise. A little frustrating that there is no internet/mobile phone access and no WiFi and so iPad had a holiday too. Bridport is a short drive away where food supplies can be bought and is particularly attractive on Market day. Good walking country although because of the rain the ground was water-logged! The road from the farm entrance is fast so keep your dog on a lead. Lyme Regis and Abbotsbury (Sub tropical gardens) are well worth a visit. Not impressed by West bay.

Lovely quality cottage for two. Tasteful and quirky. Everything supplied to start your break. Nice grounds, loved wandering round. Coast and shopping etc easily accessible. Had a very relaxed break, only downside for us was lack of mobile signal as the cottage has no wifi. No issue with noise as there were no guests next door, so cannot comment. But if your after a get away from it all. it's perfect. We'd definitely return. Lovely owners, lovely property, lovely stay. thank you x
