Amazing the pictures look fantastic but it's actually even better inside. Bigger than expected and it couldn't have been any cleaner. The owners were so so lovely throughly enjoyed and will definitely be returning.

This is our fifth self catering trip this year and without doubt the Studio is one of the best places we've ever stayed in. From the wonderfully warm welcome with the delicious bottle of prosecco :), we enjoyed every moment of our stay. The quality of the Studio is exceptional, and the stylish attention to detail makes this a particularly unique experience. We loved the area and it served as the perfect base to explore wonderful local attractions such as the Ridgeway and enjoy our superb meal at Restaurant 56. We would love to return and we're extremely grateful to the owners for what they provided. We would recommend the Studio unreservedly.

Had a lovely stay at The Studio and arrived to a warm welcome! Would definitely stay again. Only thing was that the taxi service wasn’t great when we were there - if you want to go out to a local pub, I would pre-book.

I found this property in need of a good clean. Lime scale is the problem, the water is very hard, the kettle and dishwasher need to be de-scaled. The sides of the shower also need a good clean. You can get water softener devices which fit the incoming cold water pipe. The heated towel rail was so hot it burnt your hand if you touched it. Overall I was very disappointed, having paid for 5* and getting only 3* standard.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We were devastated to read these comments, especially, as we were completely unaware of any problems these clients experienced during their stay. All clients are encouraged to let us know should they have any questions, requests or problems as we always wish to make all guests feel as welcome and comfortable as possible. In regards to the towel rail, it is fitted with a temperature control valve, and can therefore be adjusted. In regards to the mention of cleanliness, we were shocked, as the same exacting standard in cleaning and checking prior to guests arriving, was, as always, carried out. The property, appliances etc. are all thoroughly cleaned and on average, we have always scored a 10/10 for this. Relating to the hard water, this property, as many, lies in a geographical area of hard water due to geology. A variety of water softeners and filters are fitted. Unfortunately, a fuse on one device had blown. This is something that had the guests let us know, would have been rectified within minutes and we would of course have offered to have any hard water residue cleaned immediately.

The wifi went down for 5 days out of 7, no ones fault BT I think I was there on business. BUT!! I do think possibly a bottle of wine as a gesture may have helped. The one blackout blind above the bed in an open barn did not help at all to block out the 3:45am!! daylight. The tiny outside back sitting area was far too hot to sit in. You were not allowed to sit outside the front. I did ask to stay a couple of extra nights "gratis " for all the wifi hassle which meant for 5 days I had to drive for hours to do my business sitting all day in a cafe. As a barn the bedroom area was soo hot unbearable to sleep well. No I would not recommend this barn at all.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; The internet went through some disruption for 3 days (in the guest’s stay of 21) and everything was done to rectify it as soon as possible, even extending to personal assistance in the use of IT equipment. As it quite clearly says in the Booking Conditions, Wi-Fi cannot be guaranteed 24 hours a day. The guest obviously did not discuss their exact requirements prior to booking as Wi-Fi is provided for pleasure not for business purposes. In addition to a black out blind above the mezzanine, further blinds, shutters and curtains can be used in the open plan living area. This additional measure does not seem to have been made use of by this client. The private terrace space for guests to enjoy exclusively includes a terrace, covered loggia with rattan suite, bbq area and additional seating surrounded by mature plants. There is also a tennis court and uninterrupted views over trees and fields. This extensive area has been enjoyed by well over 800 guests in both cold weather and in temperature exceeding 30 degrees C. If we would ever receive a request for clients who would prefer not to use the privacy of their own space and instead wish to sit in the communal courtyard in front of their front door; we would be more than happy to oblige. So far, this request has never been made. The Studio is in an idyllic, but not remote location. Within a 1.5 mile radius a deli, local shop, post office, restaurant and pub can be found. All supply Wi-Fi access. In a radius of less than 4 miles, a wide selection of award-winning cafes, delis, pubs and restaurants are available. Some, open from 8.30am, are delighted to look after our guests and provide free internet access. This was arranged for this guest. Housekeeping informed us that radiators were turned to maximum and a 12 kW wood burning stove was also used. Guests who have visited in warmer temperatures have instead opted to use three highly efficient ceiling mounted fans, with multiple settings and even opened windows and doors. Possibly a better approach in warmer weather and we have received numerous compliments on the levels of comfort afforded by the fans. We were unable to oblige the guest in their request for "extra gratis nights" as we are contractually bound by our agency to let all pre-booked periods through them. We can only take it as a compliment that although this client "does not recommend" our property "at all" she wanted to extend her stay. We are sorry that our inability to offer free accommodation and provide another bottle of bubbles has led to this review. Although we take all feedback very seriously, we shall not reflect too heavily on this one. Instead, we will let our previous and long run of 10/10 reviews and two subsequent guests - who wish to return - speak for themselves.
