Very cosy little cottage, full of character. Well situated for trips around Dorset. A little short on crockery and would benefit from Wifi as there is no mobile signal in the area.

Although not luxurious it had everything we needed. The only thing which disturbed us a bit was the traffic noise. Although only a B road it was very busy and noisy. We didn't care much either for the skylight in the bedroom which had a totally inadequate blind on it. We didn't have any sunny mornings though.

needs lots of updating and a good thorough steam clean. could be really nice and quaint with a good little courtyard but needs tidying up and new garden furniture. we have stayed in many other cottages on this network which have been SO good but this one was quite a disappointment. In it's favour it is in a lovely lovely area.

We enjoyed our stay at The Studio and it was a very good location to explore the area. Both pubs in the village serve wonderful meals. We liked the quirkiness of the place and the original pictures. However, although the things that mattered were clean, the accommodation could do with a deep clean particularly the kitchen. The bathroom was spotless and looked relatively new. With a bit of TLC it could easily be brought up to a higher standard. The owner was most welcoming and there were fresh flowers on our arrival - a very nice touch. Overall, a lovely break and most enjoyable.

I booked this cottage for an out of season week fishing and it was OK, but: In spite of reviews from 2015, the standard of cleaning has not been addressed. Maintenance is poor, eg several lights did not work, the fire extinguisher should have been serviced in 2013 and the first aid kit should have been replaced in 2009. There was no evidence of portable appliance testing. This is a pity because the cottage has a lot of potential, is in a good location and is perfect for one or 2 people. Pre-holiday information suggested that an earlier occupation time of 1500 might be possible, but the owner was inflexible on this. I would not stay again unless the above points have been addressed and would be less happy if I had paid summer prices.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; All complaints have been addressed and rectified as required. In my defence and an explanation, my cleaner left suddenly as I discovered that her work was becoming unsatisfactory and not up to standard. It has been very difficult to replace her until recently. The complainant did not notify his time of arrival beforehand and only phoned on the day of arrival to ask if he could arrive earlier than 3pm seeming unaware that there had been other tenants who had just left and the let had to be cleaned. When he did arrive he was very morose and did not respond to my usual warm welcome. At the end of the week he left very early and also left the windows open and the keys in the lock. I would wish him to stay again.

Had a lovely week, some beautiful walks and then in the evening pulled the curtains, put the heaters on and relaxed, was lovely and cosy. We will vist again.
