A good location. Ideal road access and parking place. The stables is in a very quite and peaceful area. The road system is ideal for exploring norfolk. The local pub is OK for food. The shop is good for a top up. The village is lovely. Yes we would and will book again.

The instructions to find the Stables were accurate and easy to follow. It was comfortable and all the basics were there, but they were basic. I have never had such a poor welcome pack, TWO teabags, a little milk and sugar and two thin chocolate biscuits. There were two draws full of out of date leaflets for the surrounding area, some dating back to 09. The biggest draw back was the water heating arrangement. It did heat up quite quickly but you had to remember to turn it off all the time. Not something I wanted to worry about on holiday.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We were very sorry to hear that you found your visit to The Stables disappointing. We always aim to give our visitors a good experience and have been fortunate to receive many pleasing comments in our visitor’s book. You are absolutely correct that we have not replaced the leaflets regarding places to visit for some time and we really should do something about it. Fortunately the details have generally changed very little and so even though they are out of date they still give a good idea of what there is to do and see. As far as the tea tray is concerned, we have experimented in the past with leaving other additional items only to find that they often end up in the bin. The vast majority of people arrive bringing their shopping with them and as food preferences and tolerances vary so much we decided it was safer to stick with a welcome cup of tea on arrival. There is a message asking visitors not to leave the water heater on overnight and this seems to be in line with general thinking on the use of resources. It heats up so quickly that we had not thought this likely to cause a problem. However, had you decided to leave it on for your own convenience we would never have known! We were surprised to see the low score for local amenities as the whole area is full of wonderful things to see and do. There are the glorious beaches, stately homes, beautiful countryside and wildlife parks as well as the beautiful village of Great Massingham itself.

We found on arrival the bedroom furniture dusty and some or the kitchen crockery not washed properly so having to wash all items that we needed before use also some of the pots and pans past their use by date.It would also have been nice to have had contact with the owners at some point during the week. On the plus side we found the bed and lounge furniture comfortable and the stables in a nice quite position .
