Description

With character features throughout and a delightful wood-burning stove in the living room, The Stables provides a luxurious holiday retreat.

This charming, detached, converted holiday accommodation is surrounded by unspoilt countryside and boasts excellent views. It is located on the edge of the village of Weedon, and is an ideal base from which to enjoy country walks and explore the area. Relax on the patio in the evening and take in the stunning views over the Northamptonshire countryside. Both Towcester Racecourse and Silverstone are within 10 miles and are renowned for holding world class sporting events. There are also many country houses to see, such as Sulgrave Manor, Canons Ashby House, Castle Ashby and Althorp House, the ancestral home of the late Princess Diana. Both the house and gardens are open to the public with the exhibition by the Spencer family of Princess Diana’s life and charity work. The outlet shopping centre of Bicester Village is a short drive for those who like some retail therapy, and Gaydon Motor Museum, Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon, Blenheim Palace in Woodstock and the Cotswolds are within 30 minutes’ drive. Oxford, with its famous university and architecture, is 35 miles away. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

This is a delightful cottage with stunning views over the valley beyond. It is very well equipped and the furnishings and linen are luxurious. The property is warm and welcoming and the wood burning stove made it cosy for the cold weekend when we visited. It is conveniently positioned for easy access to the motorway network and there are many beautiful villages and places of interest in the locality. We enjoyed the tranquillity for a restful break, the owners are very helpful and accomodating and the delicious cake and egg's were very welcome. We would not hesitate to visit again.

Very spacious and well furnished. Comfortable and very clean. Lovely views and easy to find. Kitchen had everything needed for self- catering although details said freezer and it was just a small section in the fridge. Thought it would be bigger and did shop based on this so short of fridge space as a result.

An excellent holiday cottage in the countryside but close enough to local facilities and attractions. The extras in the cottage such as WiFi, large TV and music system made it a great family holiday.

Lovely location with wonderful views. Spacious accommodation. Friendly helpful owners. Would have expected a double wardrobe in the main bedroom instead of having to use the single wardrobe in the twin bedded room. More specific directions would have been helpful as we didn't have sat nav and there was no instructions on where to go from the crossroads on the A45 in Weedon village. Farthingstone is not signposted.

The interior of this cottage is lovely. However, it is very overlooked by the owners property which is directly opposite across the courtyard. We had a great time and enjoyed it but would be unlikely to book again due to the lack of privacy.

An extremely comfortable and well-equipped wing of a characterful converted farm-house. My children were delighted with the cupboard of toys; my wife and I preferred the cake, the biggest TV we've ever seen, and the stunning view over the Northamptonshire countryside.
