Description

Retaining many original features, this former stable is in a rural setting, yet is only 15 miles from the city of Lincoln.

This beautifully converted, single-storey, former stable stands detached in the grounds of the owner’s home in the rural hamlet of Stragglethorpe. The property has retained many original features, and is just 8 miles from Newark and 12 miles from Grantham. The small village church is believed to be one of only four unaltered Saxon churches in the country. This is an ideal touring base with a visit to Lincoln and its imposing cathedral - used for the filming of The Da Vinci Code - just 15 miles away. Also within an easy drive are Belvoir Castle, Belton House, Southwell Minster and RAF Cranwell. The showground at Newark is host to many antique fairs and other events. Shop 3 miles, pub 1 mile.

The cottage was lovely and in a good location. It had everything we needed and was great value for money. The only thing we were disappointed by was the tv did not work due to no signal. Everything else was lovely

Well situated. Slightly risky driving entry and exit with the drive angled and vision obstructed. Postal code resolves to other addresses nearby also variously labelled Brant something. Sofas could be improved for comfort. Overall a very enjoyable stay

An absolutely beautiful cottage, very well converted with lovely original features. Had everything we could possibly need (except wifi) and was ideal for taking 2 dogs.

Excellent accommodation and for us walking the Viking Way an excellent location. The property would benefit from having WiFi and a bigger TV screen.

Lovely accommodation, very comfortable. Dishwasher didn't work but a new one was fitted the night before we left. Owners were very apologetic but a bottle of wine wouldn't have gone a miss. Would stay there again

Lovely stay at this beautifully converted stables. It met our needs very well as we had our daughter with us who is a wheelchair user and my mother in law who has problems with mobility. The wet rooms were perfect. Lots of space and good showers. We also had our 14 week old puppy with us who loved the garden. We had read previous comments about the garden regarding the fact that the drive to the main house goes by the property so we were prepared. The area is lovely and it's a part of the country we had never visited before.
